Although this isn't strictly illegal, it is rather poor form but a daily occurrence on South African roads, me first and **** everyone else! Driver skips traffic queue waiting to turn left...

Despite having his hazards on to indicate they have a need to use the emergency lane, they were clearly not in any emergency and just not bothered to wait like everyone else has to...

Another almost daily occurrence where drivers don't plan ahead, find themselves in the wrong lane and think it is perfectly fine to flick an indicator on and change lanes...

This morning - on the crossing of Marais and R55 a couple of <insert your own favourite word for clowns here> decided not to follow the red lines, but instead make their own right turn lanes (blue lines), causing a major traffic futtup for all road users.

Red lines show the route normal traffic take. Blue lines shows the speshul snowflakes' routes.

@Neuk_ I think you should start working with JMPD . I mean if they could “arrest” a driver for high speed driving, surely they can give same attention to/and catch these (more dangerous) drivers on the roads?

Just invite them to this thread ...

more like get Yusuf Abramjee - only reason they bothered with that guy in the first place is because of the media storm.

I had a good laugh, the intention is good but to team up with JMPD or similar who can't get their basic tasks right will be futile. Just like we don't need more or changed traffic rules, we simply need the current ones to be managed and implemented.

Let's obscure our only other working brake light with our numberplate, that's mos a great idea

They rarely fail, so it's a decent assumption.
I've rarely seen a high-mounted brake light fail, usually the vehicles have NO working brake lights at all which is probably caused by a faulty fuse or, in the case of most Polo's, they have 5 - 10 dead LED's per cluster

I am hoping it is a working light. Even the Kwid on the right side of the picture has a broken light. It seems to be a plague in this city
No it is a plague all new car models suffer from. On any day you choose to name at any time of the day a short trip down Lynnwood Road in PTA, you will we 3 or 4 cars without working lights at the back in 1 km.
No one checks their lights regularly.
The newer the car model the more prevalent the plague is.

My old Honda Ballade that I used to own had all it's original bulbs from when it was manufactured in 1995 up until I sold it in 2014 - not one was replaced nor burnt out, and all the fuses were still original too. That car was so well built it sometimes defied belief and I do regret that I eventually sold it.

My current Hyundai has eaten through a rear brake light bulb, a numberplate illumination bulb and a park light bulb in the 5 or so years that I have had it, but I check that the lights work every third or so day that I head out in the mornings.

But I have noticed that Polo's seem most affected by this, although it seems to be related to fuses blowing as the ones that I have seen with dark tail light clusters also have the side that they are on (left or right)'s respective headlights that also don't illuminate. I believe it is a common issue with them, but VW never officially acknowledged it and there were no recalls in place to fix it

A taxi runs a red traffic light while in a turning right only lane and although you can't see, flashes me because I turned in front of him.

/FlameSuitOn

Taxi's regularly do this in the morning, ignoring everyone waiting in the correct lanes to go straight and go down the turning left lane pushing in just before the traffic light, I lost it a bit this morning and sped up to block the second taxi. I don't recommend this as at best doesn't really achieve anything as most taxi drives simply don't give a **** about anyone else on the road and at worst it could lead to a dangerous confrontation.

Another example of a driver that doesn't think ahead or can't be bothered to get in the right lane early enough and so thinks they can simply flick an indicator on and make a lane change.

Speaking of lights - I also do replace rear brake lights on my 'Rolla, but the hazard/reverse lights are still stock.

Front headlights I replaced with newer ones.

Broken lights can also be caused by dry solder joints or the filaments breaking from the vibration of the boot lid closing.

I had a most irritating one with our Sharan. Left rear indicator stopped working. Opened the cluster, light works. Put it back, it works. After a while it ^#%#^ stop working.

In desperation I replaced it with a new bulb, and the problem went away.

The Sharan, what bulb was in there and what bulb did you replace it with? Depending on the year, that sounds like a resistance issue with the CANBUS.
