Bad Driving thread

Ok, you're unquestionably a douche then if you drive in that fashion.

Speeding is NEVER ok, no matter how you try to justify it or precautions you think you take.

This. Children do not only inhabit school zones. Think of the consequences of your choices, specifically to other people using the roads.

150kph is never safe, anywhere in SA

Took a bit more relaxed drive back home today (rush hour Gauteng N1)...and must say its weird how I perceived everyone else to be driving more chilled once I drove more chilled.

Damn straight! And these guys that sit in the far right at 120 and won't give way because it is the legal maximum speed: **** off!

You must be referring to the Blue Light Bullies and other selfish people that habitually drive recklessly and are a hazard to everyone including themselves.

People that regularly exceed the speed limit for no good reason, thinking it will get them to their destination sooner, could simply plan ahead and leave earlier. This would also sort out their other personality flaw which is invariably being late all the time and selfishly expecting everyone else to wait for them to make an appearance.

Yep. When one drives chilled, everyone else seems to be chilled.

Could be partly due to the fact that when one is driving rally, everyone seems to be doing either 10 km/h or double your own speed :D

What would you like to say to the driver behind you?

Whatever it is you can now say it without risking you safety by inciting a road rage incident. You can control the sign via remote and it is powered by your cars lighter.

Use your Programmable Car LED Sign to wish everyone a good day or tell them to back off.

The sign features a scrolling display and suction cups so you can attach it to the window. You can choose between three scrolling speeds which move from right to left.

The car lighter outlet cord is 4 metres long so you position it wherever you choose to.

Yeah, that doesn't have any potential to incite road rage at all...

Problem is you will have to preprogram it with what you want to say. And be very careful with what you say.

I would go with "Please keep a safe following distance" and that's it. Had a crazy sniffing my exhaust fumes yesterday just because he was in a rush.

End of road rage forever :D

Its clearly somewhere where people to some degree respect the rules of the road.... In this country that oke would have been mowed down very quickly.

Was my thought too. The driver would be annoyed for a few seconds, and then run him down. It's also a crap punishment, since it holds up everyone behind that car as well.

I'll just mention this f*** nut who intentionally decided to push his car and try and run me off the side of the road when it narrowed.

ND 452-307, White Polo 1.4l.

Here's hoping you have a smashing holiday season, plick.

I'll admit, I have enough speeding fines to pay for half of SANRAL's debt (well, almost!) - I love to drive fast but believe to do so responsibly.

First of all NO speeding near schools, parks etc. where kids might be playing, nor in areas where road visibility becomes difficult (ie. hills, blind corners etc.).
Also, I adjust speed to the conditions to the road and traffic - NO fast driving in the rain or peak hours - I do not want to be "that a-hole" on the road.

The "fast lane" is a privilege but by no means a right. Even if you drive a Ferrari or GTR, the lane isn't your playground, nor should you be driving in it if your top speed is 60kph!

I fly (pardon, drive ) to work at about 150kph on the highway. Slower vehicles do wise up to my presence without the need to flash lights at them, and no tailgating either. The occasional mouth-breather will require some prompting with a polite flash. If need be a 'slight' hoot, strobe style flashing and weaving like Senna tends to 'convince' them to leave (it should be pointed out that this happened only once...ish).

The simple concept to get into one's mind however is: to drive a bit slower = saving money.

Maybe you should go back to learners? There is no "fast lane", it is actually termed the passing lane.

Honestly I would revoke his drivers license, and ban him from getting a learners ever again as well.

ax murderer on the road

to the driver of the white nissan bakkie TSG402GP
not sure if that's his plate or his trailers plate,

I know you want to get to work as quickly as possible to chop some trees down, but you nearly ran me off the road!
this is a multilane freeway just before Malboro with more than enough passing room on either side,

I get it you don't know how big your vehicle is with the extra trailer bit on the back, but do you want to kill people, before you kill trees?
I thought I was in an action movie the way he was driving, narrowly avoided hitting him, or his clapped out bakkie hitting me

thank G0D for GTA reflexes...... now all I wanted was for a submachine gun to take him out..........

any forumites seen him before?

Argh, people are dumb. Last night there was a dog wandering around in a busy road, everyone stares and gasps as cars narrowly miss him, but nobody will actually stop to try help, or heaven forbid, stop to let the people trying to help cross the road or whatever. I nearly blew my top at the stupidity. And then when I found the owners, they are also morons

Then this morning I stop next to a lady on her phone, all she does is a little "I'm sorry" wave, and continues to chat because zomg I must talk to my BFF right now or I'll die. Then I swear I saw two kids (I'd say 7-10 years old) in the front seat... No further comment here...

I'm seeing people all over talking or texting on their phones. It's an epidemic of stupidity!
