Bad Driving thread

So i'm driving at 80km/h at the legal limit down the Hans Dettman to get to work. Green robot at a 4-way intersection. Taxi in front of me going around +-70km/h.

A lady in the taxi suddenly decides she wants to depart the taxi right there so the fecken taxi driver slams brakes and stops dead in the middle of the intersection, leaving me to press both clutch and brakes as hard as I could. Laptop bag flew off seat, coffee spilled all over my lap from the cupholder, gps fell off the suction mount, i banged my head against the steering wheel. i had seatbelt on.

So I quickly switch off the engine, close door and press the immobiliser. I run to the taxi see a bruino so I am like "jou ma se ****, wat dink jy doen? Ek sal jy bliksem, kom hier jy naai." He looks at me and is like "soooerie baaas" and goes off quick before I can flick open my combat knife or if things got bad, remove my .357 from the hip holster...

Road rage is bad and I am thankful I didn't do anything I might have regretted...it's just that in the heat of the moment the anger overtakes you.

Liez... if you go down Hans Dettman to get to work, you don't have a laptop... :p

Traffic is so much better this time of the year, one of the few pleasures of having to work.
So I travel to work via the N2, which I normally would avoid at all costs.
Firstly traffic is free flowing at about 80km/ph, yet there are still cars that insist on using the bus lane.

I am driving in the middle lane (far right is the bus lane) overtaking the slower traffic on the left.
Mr CA671970 driving a white Ford Focus decides that a 2 second following distance is too much and overtakes me on the left.
He then cuts in front of me with no indicators at all, he just made it and had to drive right up to the car in the left lanes bumper to allow himself space to squeeze in front of me.
This trend carries on all the way till I took my off ramp, he was in front of me now but swerving between the two lanes constantly and not once did I see an indicator.
He was about 3 cars ahead of me when took my turn off, seems like a waste!

One would think that at this time of the year people are more "calm" and relaxed and in my situation at least it took me 20 mins to get to work as opposed to the normal 1 hour+ - Yet people are still driving up each other's @rses??? Just this morning I was already over the 80Km/h limit on the M1 North, not once, not twice, three times someone came flying up my rear, WTF people? Chillax a little and enjoy the quiet roads while it's there. That kind of driving is only endangering your life and that of others.

To the person in the white Polo with the school-child in the passenger seat on the R55 at sunrise this morning, who turned right at a traffic-light and cut in front of oncoming traffic, forcing myself and the car next to me to brake to avoid hitting you. If we hadn't stopped in time, that small child could've been killed.

To the dude in the grey Honda Jazz on Main Rd, at the entrance to Leeukop prison, also driving with a school-child in the passenger seat, who raced down the left lane and barely managed to squeeze in front of an Audi Q7: you didn't win anything, since we got to Bryanston at the same time. I hope you never have to explain to that child's mother that the child was injured or worse due to your impatience.

if you really are unable not to drive like a complete tosser and get involved in a hit & run, try not to leave too many nuggets of information behind for the police !

Today was a lovely day for watching crappy driving thanks to at least 2 accidents fowling up the freeways in Durbs.

This post goes out specifically to one very impatient driver.

To the driver of the black Jaguar X-Type 2.2D with the number plate of NPN33505. If there is a queue of cars trying to get onto the freeway, and you think you are more special than everyone else and try and drive down the side of the queue, it should be expected that someone like me will block you trying to jump the queue.

Now when I block you the first time in my 13 year old double cab, that is not an invitation to try and drive around me. My vehicle is clearly a 4x4 and I can go many place your little sedan can't, so don't get upset when I block you again, and then proceed to cover the onramp and block everyone behind you who also thinks they're special.

Idiots like you are what make traffic jams worse for everyone who has to sit through them.

Here is another dirt-for-brains eejit doing a similar thing on 20 January. Watched him overtake me and a whole load of slow-moving vehicles at rush hour in Sun Valley (Cape Town) crossing over a solid barrier line heading south on Ou Kaapse Weg (between Longboat Road and Kommetjie Road) - very dangerous indeed, because there was oncoming traffic too. Then once he turned right into Kommetjie Road he did the same thing - overtaking all the stationary vehicles. I was stationary then so took a photo. I think he makes a habit of it, because I saw a white Golf doing the same thing in the same place a couple of weeks (days? - can't remember) earlier, but didn't get the registration that time.

Right,

This is directed at the drive of NP 87817, yes I can see that you drive a R2.4m BMW 640d, and this obviously means you think you are important but when you indicate to change into a lane, the onus is on you to make sure there is sufficient space to move into the lane, not to just move into the lane.

Yes, I know the lanes merge about 200m ahead of where this happened this morning, but there was not enough space between me and the vehicle in front of me to allow you to move in at the time you decided you wanted to. The next thing is when I hoot at you for attempting to just push in, that should be an indication that I'm not going to make space for you at that point in time, you can wait until the lanes officially merge, or find another spot where there is sufficient space. Instead you decided it would be a good thing to risk damaging your lovely white BMW and push in (and the liability would have been yours by the way because you pushed into a lane, I am not legally obligated to make space for you), and then throw a zap sign at me.

Oh and as an aside to this, I do wonder how small your ego really is since you already drive a R2.4m car, but feel the need to go and add a useless little ///M badge to your car anyway.

The bad driving thread

Post your dashcam videos of people driving like boxes here :D

I'll start with an SAB Castle branded taxi turning from a straight only lane, into oncoming traffic, to jump the queue

Might wanna edit the link in the OP. You've just posted your FB profile for all of MyBB to see. ;)

*shrug* I think most people have figured out who I am... Are you seeing stuff you think I wouldn't want you to see?

If you're fine with it, then not really. I just wouldn't risk it considering the amount of crazies who come through MyBB.
