Actually the work's equipment. There's a couple of issues :

1. In an accident it is supposed to save the current clip, but instead it start recording a protected movie clip - long after the incident, which may lead to losing the evidence/events prior to the crash as it will overwrite older movies. Comes with a 16Gb MLC card, but you can purchase a bigger card if you want to.
2. The crash sensor is fiddly enough to be set off by rough roads.
3. Parking function is there, but the battery's small, which means that it will only record up to an hour or so, then stops.
4. Lane departure system is irritating enough.

Apart from that it is a nice thing to have, especially when you want to have video evidence prior to a crash or accident.

Some people just make me so angry. Yesterday on my way to a client on William Nicol, I was in the left lane but with a big truck thing ahead of me and the cars that was infront of me. So the cars in my lane start putting on their blinkers to go into the right lane and go past the truck that was moving at a snails pace. All cars in the right lane was happy to give us a chance. As it got to be my turn I put on my blinker and check and the car behind me was a a good distance behind me and going slowly, so I started to make my lane change and as I start, this car puts foot down and starts gunning for me. I was already halway done with my lane change so I complete it and this guy is right up my ass now with his car. So I throw up my hand in a WTF gesture in rearview mirror and he starts screaming and performing and giving me the middle finger. :mad:

Was riding to work this morning and saw this VW Kombi veering over the white line and then back again. When the bus was back in it's lane, i move pass only to see the twat putting on her make-up (she looked like she needed it :D ) - I see enough low-life in peak traffic texting and playing of facebook - this was the first for moving traffic

I have often seen woman doing their make up in the car while stopped at a robot. That already for me is a unacceptable thing. Doing it while driving? Should be arrested!

Ford ST and RS drivers: What is it with your need to rev the crap out of your cars in traffic?

Yesterday, this clown shoe in a plateless orange(!) ST with a map designed to overfuel ridiculously, seizes a tiny gap behind me and literally runs the piece of crap to the limiter; on William Nicol in bumper to bumper traffic.

A few weeks back, tubby gummy wearing a backward cap in a shagged out RS did exactly the same thing in the same conditions.

This happened again. During my Friday afternoon commute, some muppet revved his RS to the limiter while passing me in the oncoming direction. He even slowed to a snail pace so that he could do it next to me...
 
Death tolls on our road will never decrease with current behaviour, no matter the level of policing.

I lost count of drivers (family commuting) yesterday on the N2 that took a chance by passing a truck or car while it is not "safe" to do so.
Passing on blind corners, double barrel lines, just in general rolling the dice by not being able to see what is 400m up the road while passing barely 10km/h faster. No wonder the number of head-on collisions on our roads is as high.
 
Had a bit of schadefreude the other day. Beemer crossed a solid white line and inserted itself into the gap in front of my car.

Managed to keep my cool, but I was definitely not happy. But the friendly traffic cop about 400m ahead made my day, signalled for the beemer to pull off for a nice chat. Presumably about road manners and white lines. :D :cool:
 
HGS 081 EC belonging to Only Realty...oh boy. Where do I start...

Driving down the road past Swartkops just past Perseverance this 'lady' in a Hilux is behind me (I was behind a large truck at this stage), eager to get past me. Just across the intersection the truck pulled into the yellow lane for me to pass him, but before the trailer even starts to move across while I start indicating this bakkie screams past me on the right hand side, over the painted island into the oncoming traffic. If I didn't see her she would have probably driven right into the back of me.

I followed her for a few kilometers and later on as the John Tallant Road intersects the N2 towards CBD she overtook a Daewoo also over the painted island, which I managed to snap as it happened.

Anyone keen to post this on their social media page? :D

Today while driving back to the office from a client, I see this Toyota Condor with a broken windscreen at a four way stop, he goes ahead of me and i notice he's towing a trailer with no number plate, no lights whatsoever and a little kid not more that 6 or 7 years old standing up in it, holding on for dear life.

Said driver goes over some speed bumps at 40-50km/h, kid in trailer is bouncing all over the place, screaming his head off.

Said driver notices a CoCT traffic officer ahead and quickly makes a sharp right turn into a side street to avoid Traffic officer.

I stop at the traffic officer and explain the situation and he says to me: "I'm not bothered chasing some idiot"

Said traffic officer was reported to traffic department.

People like this driver should be shot on the spot.

All this happened in Joe Slovo on Democracy way.

Good on you for being proactive! I just hope something comes of this. And that the poor kid survives his trip :(
 
On the phone, hogging the right lane for 5kms and with the fog lights on.
