Bad Driving thread

Not the best place to make a uturn as it can be quiet busy on this stretch of road and there is traffic going in and out of the rubbish dump...

A fairly common issue and I don't understand why the middle lane is straight only but many use it to turn right and some get surprised when they suddenly see a Touareg in their lane after turning...

Taxi's do this fairly regularly but normal drivers don't but based on the behaviour of the driver of the black Polo Classic I can only presume he is a taxi driver or at least was one in another life...

A common occurrence, taxi's use the turning lanes to go straight and miss the traffic queue...

Yep, but for truck/train horns you'll need an air compressor with tank and control system, so it is a bit of a pain.

Or

Just keep one of those can air horns in your car, you know the one's used for emergencies. Point out the window and let loose.

I noticed you can buy aftermarket hooters/horns/toeters - if you can get your hands on a truck/train horn, you'll have lots of fun.
I considered putting one of these on my KLR. It had a really, really bad stock hooter that was as quiet as a mouse fart

Flip he isn't even using that lane to cut in front of anyone he is just hogging both the right and the middle

Or these old timer hooters, have an old 6 Volt one which I drive with 12V. They do an excellent job of scaring people who are sleepwalking or driving with cellphones at their ears or typing WhatsApp/SMS's.

Hooter like this one.

Sorry guys, I was taught that the best hooter is the one that is the silent one and never used, except in extreme emergencies.

I can only assume that you were taught this because when you learnt to drive people actually obeyed the rules of the road and had behaviour that resembled common courtesy?

Drivers like this really get on my nerves at times...

Taxi doing what taxi's do best, whatever they want and bugger everyone else...

It is difficult to see but it looked like the car was at the mini circle first giving it right of way but the driver on the bike/scooter just rolls through and risks getting hit with their child behind them...

More emergency lane nonsense from taxi drivers...

Illegal turn?

Yes, it was the norm for people to obey the rules. And Common Courtesy prevailed as a result, So, the need to use the hooter was rare and mostly only for real extreme warnings.

I was taught the same, but with the way people are driving today, it is best to use it and make somebody aware that you're really there, especially when said person is busy on a phone instead of concentrating on the road.

Else you risk making an accident and get the rap for it. So, I'll rather use the horn and make excessive noise than getting the rap for somebody's mistake or inattentiveness.
