Bafana Bafana played crap!

Teams play well and lose.

For those of us who watch Bafana regularly will have seen the improvement in performances. That is what we are happy about.

And tbf only in a parallel universe would anyone expect the current Bafana team to beat Spain or Brazil. Most of us do not live in said universe.

While congratulating them on improved performances, we realise that there are still shortcomings in the team. We will continue to harp on about those, but come from a place of constructive critiscm and being positive.

Ive watched every game Bafana played for quite a while now... missed a few qualifiers for the ACN...
We were always poor finishers, nothings changed.

i do not dispute the fact that we are crap when it comes to finishing.

There is a reason we are 70th or thereabouts. And our general lack of cutting edge in front of goal is one of those reasons. Our strikers are too static and cannot make runs that open spaces for defences.

USA played well, they finished 2nd. They scraped through but was amazing in the first half yesterday. If Bafana ever lost like that maybe id give the a gold star...
We played crap. Thats it. Both Spain and Brazil played poorly against us as well. Brazil sneaking one with a sub, so did Spain.

I still dont think we played well. Some decent passes, our midfield is about the only thing im impressed by...

So you don't think beating spain 1-0 with 3 minutes to go was good?

Yet you think the USA throwing away a 2-0 lead was just fine?

Get rid of Mokoena and put an extra striker, then BB will OK.
Sibaya, Mhlongo, Dikgacoi, can help defensively, and going forward. So you don't need 4 defenders at he back if you have 3 defensive midfielders.
Parker is your typical target man, he's good coming from deep, that's what he was doing at Thanda Zulu Royals.

Mokoena is our weakest link but I think we stuck with him.

Teko needs to learn to play with BB team structure. He will not get the freedom he has at Pirates. He has disappointed in this tournament.

"South Africa seem like they need a lot of chances to score and if they can get a finisher, maybe they will be one of the favourites in the World Cup next year. South Africa impressed me a lot.”

One thing that worries me a bit is whether we are more suited to play against teams like Spain/Brazil that do not have a fast paced game. Because the teams generally build bu their attacks I wonder whether it allows us to organise ourselves better.

It would have been interesting to play against a team like the US because I think that would have provided a different style of play. I wonder whether we would have been able to handle that.

True, and we have a Brazillian coach that helped when playing these two teams.
The US really impressed me, the way they countered and especially that second goal, only 4 touches and at pace!

We only two big teams, what happens when we play the Germans, Portugal, Argentina, Netherlands, English etc etc
We need to be able to score!!
