Baldur's Gate 3

I think 7 or 8.
That's high enough
All I can say is, always have someone with you who does area of effect damage

Sorcerer / Wizard etc
Thunder wave is one of the best spells you can have and is only a level 1 spell. Position enemies right and you can knock 3 - 4 into the void in one blow

You are definitely in a pickle with that line-up
Your best option at this point is to try and push some of the lower level enemies off the edge and then retreat back to where you can create a choking point so you can take them on one by one
If shadowheart has silence then use it. cast it where the enemies have to enter to reach you to nullify any aoe spells they may have

Good luck

is this the one where you are just about to enter the tower with Jaheira (or whatever her name is)? I legit found that fight to be much, much harder than the subsequent boss encounters. If I had been an extra level like 8 or 9 (think I was also around 7 at this time) it would have unlocked some extra spells to make it easier.

The best solution I found to this encounter is to keep everyone back and then ungroup and send one person in to trigger the event. Pull everyone down the passageway that is the entrance and AOE the f out of them. I had Gale cast Ice Storm a couple of times, I threw lots of bombs and/or exploding vials, I had Gale cast grease alot as well, and I tried to ensure that the mobs behind the door werent triggered until the room was cleared. I had Wyll in my party and if he had been 1 extra level I would have been able to cast wall of fire as well. I used him to case Bladestorm on mobs that had slipped on the ice or grease. It was rough.

I would say this encounter was, for me, the most difficult of the entire game. I wiped on this an uncountable amount of times. After this everything felt quite a bit easier.

Also, having killed Night song, there was this short cutscene where a lady was in a room with a moon ray shining on her and i thought to myself "who the fk is this?" (I think the cutscene bugged out as it ended very quickly". Later on I went back to that Last light inn to discover that everyone is now dead/transformed and I was like wtf. Only to discover that the lady from the cutscene was Isobel Thorm and killing Night Song killed her too, how was i meant to know that.

I also didnt know Isobel was upstairs in the Inn so I had no context of anything.

Hopefully you have a save, as killing night song doesn't kill Isobel. Not protecting her does

I do but the fights leading into moon rise towers was proper aids, now i must throw that hard work away? :crying:

How does one protect Isobel? I went directly from the Shar place to moonrise travel point.

You have to speak to Jaheria and she'll tell you about Isobel and when you go up think it triggers a fight. If she dies a lot of quests disappear

I took in shadowheart a ranger, a wizard, jahiera a Druid and Helsin Druid. I had never played a Druid before and took in 2 haha. Cool thing about druid is when they are transformed and get to 0 hp they change into the normal form, then you just change back and keep attacking. Like an endless health pool.

Druids have ice storm and so does my wizard. Wiped out out all adds with the ice storm then shape shifted into a tiger with both druids and jumped on his face. The 2 druids (using the armour down skill) and wizard focused thorm. My ranger used misty step and helped up the chick in the corner (which allowed me to damage thorm) and then focused summons before they hatched.

Didn't use anything but spells available to me and finished it first time on tactician. Maybe I just got lucky.

The fight just before getting into baldurs gate though that damn fight had me reset like 50 times and finished it with 3 downs and my ranger on 7hp.

Also did you speak to the sick guy in last light inn, he leads you on a cool quest that allows helsin to join the party, if you haven't killed him.

That's what second, third fourth playthroughs are for

You are not going to see or discover everything in one playthrough.
Your choices create massive changes in the game world, which is why this game is soooo damn good.

What other game let's player choice create so many irreversible changes that change your game completely?
None

Don't stress about your choices. Own them and deal with them.

F this fight, tonight I'm installing a trainer to enable god mode to beat just this fight.

On the next play through I'll try spec my character/team better. 1st time playing this type of game so had no clue what I was doing.

Wemod's trainer works well

What difficulty are you playing?

If you need Godmode to beat that fight you may as well use it the rest of the game. There are a lot more difficult fights than the one you are stuck on

If you started your game on normal, maybe consider rather starting a new game on easy

I started on Normal then changed to Easy about 5 in-game hours ago.

One thing I've learnt from this game is to save like a mofo, yes I do have a save before the fight which is my current save.
Change up your team
Go look for side stuff you may have missed to gain another level or two
The story suggests urgency, but there is no time limit, so you can take your time

You can also fast travel back to the act 1 area to take on enemies they may have been too powerful at the start

Edit:
There are two routes into the underdark, but you can travel back and actually do both
If you did not take the other route, go there now and get some more side quests and xp

Main quest has no urgency, but there are some quests that do, like the little boy and the harpies, the Grove, Nere

Sure,
But in the context of what he is struggling with, there is no need to rush into it

Cant go back once you have entered shadowfall. So Im pretty much stuck there until that moonrise quest is done.
