Baldur's Gate 3

Pretty damn confusing where to go next in this game. Already found a couple of points of no return warning me to finish everything before moving on. I assume that would move me on to Act 2.

Did everything there is to do I think on the surface region with the Grove, Goblin camp etc, did everything in the Underdark and Forge region and now moved on to the Mountain Pass area to do the Creche thing with Lae'zel.

I guess after finishing the Creche I can move on to what I think is Act 2, correct? I won't be able to come back to any of these areas at all?

Also I hate that I have to wait to get Halsin. He's just been standing there in camp doing nothing for ages now. Been gathering weapons, armor and everything for him for a long time lol. Feels like a weird design choice that you can't use him as soon as he joins your camp.

You can return to chapter 1 locations from chapter 2. You can't return to chapter 1& 2 locations from chapter 3. Some quests may be locked.

Oh ok. But i'm trying to complete everything I can anyway before leaving Mountain Pass and the Underdark. Was under the impression I can't come back.

act 1 gets locked off when reaching a certain point in act 2

In the Shadow Cursed Lands now. Only 1 quest I was unable to complete in the previous areas because I killed the trader I sold important ceremonial weapons to. Didn't know I needed them for some puzzle :cautious:

Yup, saw the vines on my first visit. Near that white dog you can add to your camp :)

Wish i could bring the dog along to travel and fight with me btw.

Had to reload there a couple of times as well.

Currenty have 6 companions and Withers with all his hirelings which have come in handy a few times now. 7 if you count Halsin but looks like he will only become available to choose in act 2 and I'm not there yet.

Do you have the ball yet?
Dog will eventually bring you a ball when in camp
You can use this ball outside of camp to throw and summon him

I see there is a skill button now where you summon Scratch as a familiar (once he brings the ball to camp and you get it off him). Got a whole 5 hit points so I doubt he will be much use in a fight. But does say he can sniff things out, so time will tell how useful he is.

Don't underestimate elixirs, spells etc.

AID at Level 3 adds 10 HP to everyone it affects (so your 4 party members plus any minions, pets etc in your party). You can also enlarge creatures which buffs their stats.

Yebo. I tend to forget using scrolls and magic arrows though.

I didn't use any elixirs, spells or arrows untill the final fight, in the final fight I used arrow of many targets every time I could (very overpowered). I also never used any illithid powers on any characters and finished the game rather easily on tactician.

Cool thing is you can chose to however you want and can get through the game.

The biggest game changing item for me was badurian giantslayer with giant form, jeesh that makes you hit so damn hard my barb became a one man army.

Yeah I summoned him once but then dismissed him during his first battle because I'm too scared they'll kill him

Don't know if he's gone for good if killed so he's just staying at camp with baby owlbear.

I'm sure you will be able to resurrect him. I've only had for one battle though and I just sent him out of the fight zone :)

Scratch acts like any familiar. He returns to camp if killed. Can't be permanently killed as far as I know.
In combat most useful thing he can do is revive other party members
