Baldur's Gate 3

The game is like EARLY early access, but there are already discussions about possible DLC… I won’t even be surprised that the devs have shills amongst us.

IIRC, DOS2 had DLC? The companion DLC and the bundle DLC (artwork, lore book and soundtrack).

It is way too early to discuss DLC, you milk the cow when ready.

I believe InXile released Wasteland 3 a little too early, but the latest patch resolved a lot, and they are discussing DLC like it is the next best thing.

DLC are nowadays priced at AA. $60 game, $35-40 DLC.

DOS2 only had Sir Loras as gameplay DLC, and it added very little. So far they have a pretty good track record.

Steam also deleted my reply with screenshot being out on gog 5 mins to 7pm.

(Of course this was made on release day 6:55pm)

Got to protect the steam bottomline. Pathetic.

You do realize that Steam doesn't do moderating on game reviews unless its racist, harassment, illegal etc. If the developer doesnt like your review they flag it for steam and the steam removes it.

I don't agree with the practice but for the love of GOD at least get enough insight to point fingers at the correct culprit.

Moderating Reviews
We work hard to maintain Steam as a safe place for customers and developers, but we need your help in identifying cases of abuse, harassment, or violations of our terms. We ask that you flag cases where a review is inappropriate or where the reviewer is engaging is malicious practices.

Q. I'm a developer. Can I delete reviews of my product?
A. Not directly. If you find abusive reviews, you can flag them. The review will continue to be listed on your store page until a moderator deletes the review or removes the flag.

For example in this case the Developer consider you complaining about the price abusive. They flag your post to Steam and then steam removes your post.

Eks bly jyt jou coffetjies geniet, was daar darem suiker in?

Are you guys on early access ? Is this worth it ?
Completely depends on what you would like to get out of it:
[X] bugs - yes
[X] sneak peek - yes
[X] help with the process - yes

I've gotten about 8 hrs on mine to date while my SO is at almost 40 hrs. If we are talking hours then you should at least hit 799 (steam pricing) / 200 (ave movie ticket without discounts) = 3.995 hrs. That would be the bare minimum you should hit to get some sort of return. However, even this is subjective. I mean look at Resident Evil RE1's price vs 1 playthrough (8h 10m for main) x the odd R800 I've paid for it (I think), at the end if you are not somewhat entertained then it/you failed.

Would I recommend it? Probably not if you are just looking for the IP/Title and not **** around with its EA.

worth the "R50" xbgpu

This is why you don't pre-order. BTW, I asked Steam about it, and they said I should ask InXile about it, InXile then admitted a price discrepancy, but said it isn't their issue and that I must ask Steam whether I paid the right price. Steam told me I should cancel the order, but I will lose my pre-order bonuses.

Here is the thing, I never asked for a refund, I even told them that I willingly paid the price as advertised, yet both Steam and InXile got very defensive about it. All I wanted from this discussion was for InXile to merit this decision of theirs for the right of the consumer. A day after I told them that they can both do better at communicating with the consumer, the price was dropped further.

If a publisher undercharge they will quickly initiate a refund without your permission, or break the item on the Steam on purpose until you refund. The problem is, in the Steam ecosystem you can only withdraw (or refund) to a wallet.

Kudos for Sony/Guerilla for honouring their price discrepancy they had with Horizon Zero Dawn. I have zero time for those who abuse the consumer.

Never pre-order.

I wonder how this would have played out on GoG*. Probably the same?

*After the whole Doom DAC thing, whether or not it was right or wrong, I've started to go the GoG route. Especially motived by steam, steam support and id software's responses with requests for doom eternal.

I'll wait for the full game before I give this a go.
They did the same with DOS 1/2, if you aren't interested in reporting bugs, it isn't worth the price for early admission.

I just did it for the support of the development.

I have Wasteland 3, Encased (which is also still development), ATOM RPG and it's standalone expansion, and Underrail to keep me busy until then. Every time I want to play Underrail a load of enhancing patches comes out, it is amazing for how long the developers have kept it fresh.

I am all for supporting development but not at full price.

Of course.

Just one thing with Larian Studios, DOS2 took almost a full year before it's first discount, however once they started to discount their title it was marked down by quite a generous amount. Here you can see the history of DOS2,

for many it would be worth the wait.

My thoughts after finishing EA is that the finished game will be excellent. Really enjoyed it overall. Game ran fine on my system, consistently 110 fps+, only 1 crash in 20+ hours.

2 Things I don't like. 1. The choice of turn based combat compared to real time pause, real time pause is superior. 2. The limited party, only 4 compared to the 6 of bg 1 & bg 2. Makes party choices very limited.
