Hi Guys

I don't know if anyone would be interested in this small job , but I have a 2m x 0.85m banner (pull up) that I need some custom design for.

Currently I have
1. A PSD mockup I did myself in the correct size.
2. Layers with a background I liked the look of , text , and images that might/possibly be used
3. An idea of refinements I would like done

I have placed a link to all the files you need (including the PSD) (sending it via email was too large) here :

I need
  1. The design to be improved in such a way that the banner is easy on the eye and styled nicely
  2. I'm open to the banner design being changed substantially or minimally.
  3. I'm open to you replacing text with images if they work better to convey their meaning
  4. Include "Commission charged between 4-6% above the South African general market price depending on transaction time and size"
  5. Make sure the verbiage is correct. It can be shortened or changed to fit the style if necessary.
I had in mind a budget of around R700 (I would expect only the return of the PSD with edits). However , I know nothing about what designers charge and I don't know how much work I've actually completed for the designer up front and how much is left to do.

Perhaps you could give me some pointers? PM me if you're interested in the job

Thanks

Hi,

I've been lead UX at numerous financial institutions. First advice, take a step back and ask yourself what do you want your banner to do. Is the primary purpose to draw attention and inform users of what the ATM does, or is it instructional to explain how it works? If the latter, your ATM UI journey should be reviewed - the experience should be intuitive enough that an external banner should not be necessary.

So I'm going to assume it's to catch attention and inform. Simplify - there's too much happening. Focus on what you want it to say and what action you want to prompt, and make sure it succeeds in those facets. Building trust is a cornerstone in financial branding especially if your brand is not well known or trusted. I'd suggest a conservative complementary color scheme, like navy and brown.

Use sharp, clear images instead of overlays of images with text. It communicates confidence.

Good luck!

Gotya. Thanks for this.

The UI is pretty intuitive and customers work out how to use it without instructions so the screenshots can go.

Will think about it and revise and change the link.

@Brenden_E

I did some more work on it.

Navyish Theme
Simplification of Text
Matching icons to simplify intent
Removed instructions

The action point of the banner I wasn't sure about , because typically users already know what they want to do with the machine once they reach it. Perhaps "Press Buy Now" or something would be appropriate?

This went to print and is up , but I'm happy to review it over time and change it to better support its purpose.
