Hey,

Very noobish questions here I know but any help would be appreciated.

I have just received my sister's 3G card to use for the rest of the year. It has a sim card in it which is on a top up contract. She has told me that to check the balance of airtime on the sim card i should send a blank sms to "100" using the vodafone SMS software. Is this correct?

Also, I am pretty sure the card is on a MyMeg 600 package as every month a basic data bundle of 600mb is provided. She has told me that if 600mb is not enough and I need to buy more I simply sms "MyMeg/ MyGig X" (e.g. MyMeg 300) to 100 and this will charge the account and provide the extra data bundle.

I am asking because earlier today I tried sending both a blank sms and "balance" to 100 and received a reply to neither. I also sms'd MyMeg 110 to 100 and got no reply to that. (I am using the vodafone SMS software on my laptop for all of this).

Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Try sending ppd to 31050 to check the bundle balance , this is for topup and prepaid offers. There is currently a problem with the purchasing options , this is in attendance.

It seems there’s an issue at Vodacom, I’m struggling to acquire data bundles through their prepaid services.
