Battlefield 1 Open Beta is live

It's a beta so you might be one of the lucky ones and have issues. If possible leave the game on DX11 and the 'resolution scale' on 42%
That one's a mess: you'd think 100% would be 100% scaling but it's not. 42% is 100% scaling (well, except it isn't. It's actually just under and 43% is just over)
Putting that to 100% means your PC would be trying to render about 5x the normal amount of pixels.
 
Will play around with the settings. When it was first announced I thought its time to stop buying BF - not so sure now. Might need to add it to the Xmas list

That's why they release these beta's... aka demos.
 
I want to give this a skip but I also worry that it's going to be the only real big MP FPS in South Africa, as usual.

I bought Premium for BF4 and just like BF3 I felt I didn't get my money's worth. If I get it this time I'll get the base game and nothing more.
 
Played some more. Like the game (despite the latency disadvantage), but I would really enjoy the game if there is a CQB map like Metro or lockers.

I usually buy the base game and the first few DLC's. After that I get over it.
 
I put in serious work and ended up way way on top of the leader board, only to be hit by the beta where it didn't show the results after the round.

BF is cool. People need to stop buying CoD Modern Black Warfare Advanced Ops, or whatever they're on now...
 
Loved BF2, disliked everything they did after that.
Might get this though, it looks like a lot of fun.

I would immediately jump on the game if it wasn't for the fact that the fanbase is always clamoring for CoD-gameplay. CQB is never what BF was about and yet those are the maps that are almost always full.

(No offence to Genisys, you like what you like, but it's just not what I want from BF)

So if I increase it above the default and my card can handle it will it look better?

Cool, will give it a try.

Played BF1 for two hours and I like it. I'll definitely get it, but the Standard edition.

Everything is on max and my 1070 runs at about 60 degrees.
 
Played about 5 rounds last night... 4 of which I had no guns.

Game is full of bugs.
 
The weirdest thing that happened to me was I was riding around with a full squad and *poof* the vehicle disappeared.
