lol... if everybody else is doing it then i dont see why you shouldnt... how do you think many top players got their promotions? :rolleyes:
 
Does anyone know any International servers with a decent ping? I have a friend in Switz i wanna frag and he cant log into SGS. I have searched but lowest ping is usually 380-500 and I get bounced after 10mins or less for high ping. There must be a couple that are playable from here?
 
@bboy - yea - u're wikked dude. Just prooves how much I suck is all.

Chopper hopping is where they take a transport chopper, fill it with:
- The team leader as pilot
- The 2 gunners (Left + right)
- 1 Special ops behind the gunners to throw c4 at peeps on the ground
- 1 Engineer to repair the chopper in the air
- 1 resupply dude to hand special ops more ammo

or - different combinations of these arrangements.

What the pilot does it hover over a flag for about 20 seconds, the flag is taken verry quickyl cos there are 6 peeps in the chopper and then he flies to the next flag to do the same.

In the meantime another chopper is flying behind that one on the other team doing the same thing, and raking up points for every person in the chopper as it goes along.

Us poor blokes on the ground end up standing around looking for something to shoot at while the flahs change hands like crazy, and it sucks cos there is no longer an objective to achieve.

Are you using a shaped saix line - then forgetabout it.
Mebbe you should tunnel through using one of the "service addon" providers, otherwise, try the unshaped service.
Just to think - in 1999 I could play BzFlag in Denmark at 180ms lag. Nowit's never lower than 490 and that's not playable.
Ask teklom why.

PM Clipse - he is somehow involved in www.nukecap.co.za - they provide a different way of crossing the atlantic.
There are 2 others I think, one provides a means to "tunnel" [vpn] across the atlantic that is particularly effective. Carent merember who they are though. ...
The point is that you need to bypass SAIX's unfair and bogus shaping mechanism.

For AA vehicles the best kit to use is the SUPPORT kit ( the one with replenish ammo )... you have an endless supply of missiles which you can fire in volleys of 4 at a time... gets those BH's everytime!

Just drop a few packs in front of the AA vehicle and ride over them to resupply. Best spot is in the valley just below the first bridge the USMC has to cross. ie. have the bridge on your left and the two MEC bases on your right.

This way you can take out the low flying Cobras and the chopper hopping BH's. :D
 
Cool info. What other good tips have guys got for us poor Lance corporals :) BBoy, besides the vehicles, what's the infantry trick? I get miffed when I dump half a clip from a G36 in a guy and he won't go down. Is it body armour?
 
Ok im going to buy bf2 this afternoon on my way home, what all do i need to download when i get home? Ie patches/mods?

Or can i just install and play on the server?

You also need a microphone - it's so much better if you can shout at the people u're playing with. A nice set of surround sound headphones won't kill you either. :p If you want to fly the jets - get a joystick that can twist.

Let the learning begin - watch out - it's freaking addictive.

Yeah, it sucks - perhaps not as bad as me as a player, but it sucks. I have found that the helicopters are not too keen on the unlocked sniper rifle. I think 2 snipers will take out a helicopter - and bonus, all the crew too.

No buzzer to let the point rapers know that you've locked on either.

I hope that one of the classes - perhaps the engineer - will one day have the ability to create gun positions so that an anti-air missile launcher can be put in a place that is useful.
 
I just went to the pc shop here in town..and they sold out of bf2 :(

So i will try organise it by 2nite.

Will play under "js" if it allows nicks of less than 3characters and if its taken then i have no clue. So dnt look 4me now on purpose :P i know how hunt the n00b works eheh.
Have Dsl, not a prob.

Im assuming my p4 2.8ghz 512ram and gefroce 6800 is enough??
Will buy more ram laterz.

I have never played bf before so this is gonna be interesting... lol

I am used to the addictiveness of games so dnt worry bout that, i play css,dota and gonna buy WoW laterz aswell. GG social life.

and if you get TK'ed ( team killed ) learn to think twice before pushing the PGDWN key... ie. PGDWN key "forgives" the TK'er... most of the time you forgive, only exceptional cases of stupidity syndrome need a PGDWN... :P

EDIT : to forgive is PGDWN of PGUP?!?!?! I forgot!!! :eek:
