New patch, new ranks, and here's me sitting twiddling my thumbs, chomping at the bit, downloading the 170Mb patch . .

I have now unlocked about four weapons. This is good.

I go from Lance Corporal to Staff Sergent in a few kills. This is not so good. Too many chiefs not enough Indians.

I try to spawn; I click on spawn point but it does not select the point right away, but after random amount of clicking, my "waiting to spawn" count down finished 20 seconds ago. I need to shoot someone. I try clicking on the spawn point in various ways, very precisely with rapid clicks. Very precisely with deliberate slower clicks. I try it at untakeable flags and takeable flags. No change. Happened most on that Iraqui wetlands map. yes they were my team's flags. This is bad.

Iraqui map with TV station. I can't create a squad. I try creating a normal aplhanumeric squad I try creating a custom squad, no diffs. This is bad.

Game is still fun to play tho :D This is good

The "click map" seems to be way off on Zatar Wetlands.
I played commander on this map for a bit, it was annoying as hell - Click to send a uav on the central island, and it ends up somewhere to the lower right of the area i clicked. Same goes for arty strikes. Grrr.
I found that with the spawn points, if you clicked somewhere to the lower left of the spawn point, it would select it. Very annoying trying to click on your squad leader tho.

Sharqui Peninsula - Haven't played this map on new patch yet - frikkin server 4 was rotating between 4 (or so) maps last night -extremely boring after the third cycle.

A squad mate, nogal, goes and PTK's me when I accidentally reversed over him with a buggy last night, despite that I apologised over VOIP. Yeesh.

Next round I had the distinct pleasure of C4ing him -- twice.

Obviously he didn't like being swapped to the other team at rounds end, so he switched back.

Hey dude, it was great to catch you online, apologies for the crappy leadership, I lost my voice somewhere in Durbs :(

I suspect there's going to be a 1.03 hotfix pretty soon, I also couldn't create squads on Karkand and couldn't join on Sharqi - hence I created on Sharqi - and lead poor Drusky to his doom ;)

I like some of the other changes though - the favourites - capture point names is a huge advantage. no more, "go to the point over on the left under the thingy ma bobby. . " Anyone tried out the new AA?

So what unlocks are y'all doing? i've got the G36, and I'm thinking about the G3 and the DOA12.
 
Heh, well I can't remember the specific gun names, but I've got the spec ops, assault & medic so far.
 
i had the medic one already, just added the sniper rifle (m95) and the dao thingy for the anti tank. DAMN, THAT GUN ROCKS!!! it OBLITERATES infantry, which used to be my greatest weakness as AT.

I noticed the same thing. Opening and closing the spawn screen seemed to help a bit.

The new Abrahams sounds are awesome.
 
Haven't really noticed that.
The new turrent sound on the AA (On the carrier) sounds really sick tho.
 
anybody got GOD mode to run properly? :D

nah... havent tried BF2 1.03 yet... Friday is the day... cant wait to ride my AA vehicle... yummy!
 
I tried AA, It seems harder to het heli's now, still have trouble hitting Jets, but then again I did not spend a whole load of time AAing last night.

g36c Is a cool gun,
I also got the Anti Tank DAO, the mp5 is really tiring ...
Support gun ( PKM ), I hear good things about it ...
