Battlefield 3

How the hell can you buy a game and not try all options? Do the campaign, do the co-op and play multiplayer. Plus you can unlock weapons for multiplayer by doing the co-op. Bet you all didn't realise that :P

I bought it for online play though, the other options seem pointless. Co op looks decent though.

To those playing online using mobile broadband, what has your epxerience been like?

and we say hello to the 1st (that I have seen) lvl 45 Colonel.

I can understand that no more 1 shot kills and such, which kinda pisses me off when you headshot a guy and you still end up having to shoot him like 10 times before he dies.

yesterday was aiming at a sniper prone on a rock, shot in head, he turned and so we had to battle with a few shots each, but I easily shot at him another 3-5 times (hits) where he shot me twice with SV98 and I be dead.

also I do foresee myself getting really annoyed by the disabling vehicles thing. again, yesterday I was take out with 2 shots by 1 AT guy on a full health tank with the MAINTENANCE upgrade.

I have TOW'd a tank in the back and then RPG'd it as well with no kill, now you tell me, is the TOW weaker than RPGs?

had some annoying snipers as well yesterday on that Canal map, RUSH mode, where they went and sat on that "crane tower" over the water on the one side.

man that was annoying as hell and every 2nd guy was playing sniper.

Guys, What are the System Specs needed to play Battlefield 3?

I heard I can only play it on Low graphics. I have:

Intel Core i7 2630QM
6GB DDR3 1333MHz
500GB 7200RPM HDD
Nvidia GT 525M 1GB DDR3
15.6 HD LED SCREEN

Head shot is one shot dead - there are some physics taken into account and you may blat a guy in the head but not penetrate because of distance.

There might be some glitches in the hit boxes and there are hacks out - even in Beta

Yeah - it takes some getting used to the whole diasabled and destroyed but it makes sense

The Nosehair Canal is annoying if you're the US. But early days and the tactics will evolve.

Oh- the different 'rockets' have some distance before they 'arm' properly.

It should work fine - not sure what graphics drivers will work for you - make sure they're upgraded

I had to rebuild a pc win Win 7 to install BF3. Had to reinstall the game to get it working. Origin suxors.

Running a Q6600 (2.4ghz)
4gb Ram
Nvidia GTX550Ti

Game is absolutely awesum.

Guys, please describe what your lag looks like? The kind of lag I am getting is when the whole game just kinda stops moving for 3-5 seconds sometimes (if its bad) and then suddenly everything is moving again and I've been killed :(

Is it this bad for everyone? When there is lag, its unplayable. But some games have absolutely no lag whatsoever.

I'm on Mweb 384 uncapped

Only had LAG once or twice so far. Also on a mweb 384 line.
What server are you playing on?

Currently downloading SP2 for Vista, Can someone with the actual disc please will you post the KB number for the GFX patch needed for SP2? KB971*** it's indicated on the disc. I'm doing this from work now to safe myself some Data from home :p

edit: O btw, on Saturday, I downloaded a new Nvidia driver specially for BF3. So you Nvidia guys should go have a look there.

The only lag I have got is on a 64 player map but this is only sometimes and when it does lag, it lags at the most arb times e.g. running behind a wall to get away from a sniper...boom lag and it turns out I ran right past the wall...

I think the lag/crashing has got a lot to do with the server you are playing on. I found the WAGE servers to be the best for me so far.

My problem is insanely long loading times. By the time I get on a map all the tanks/planes/jeeps are gone and I have to run to the fight.

I have:

Core i7
4 Gig ram
GT 550 Ti

Maybe more ram will help?

Same issue, cept I have an i5, gtx560 ti and 4 gigs of ram. I am ordering another 4x2 gigs of ram as we speak.

My roommate with your build (but 6 gigs of ram) loads faster than me...
