Battlefield 3

Anyway we can download the patch at work and apply when we get home? Or does it need to go through Origin?
 
Im having issues with patching... origin tells me my game is not installed, then tries downloading the entire game, but doesnt move from 0%.....my battlelog does not even load in any browser. A friend of mine is experiencing the exact same issues as me, could this be ISP related (we both with cybersmart). Its like theres no contact with anything EA/DICE/Origin related. Weird **** i tell you :wtf:

im also with cybersmart and havin the exact same issue also i cnt access the battlelog web site... i even tried using different pc that doesn hav bf3 installed jus to see if i could access the website and still nothin and i was playin last nite with no issues

Very weird.

I did however notice that on Metro, my gun when I use the scope and go out again, at the little dot it tears the screen in a weird triangular shape from where I scoped to where my gun is now. It's annoying as hell and only happens inside the subway at B on conquest.

After sitting at my PC for 8 hours, the update has finally started downloading. I've done so much crap I dont even know how I got it to work! Origin was open in the background and when I looked at it now it just started downloading the update. I can also access the battlelog page as per normal. Up till 10 minutes ago however Origin was still trying to download the whole frikken game over. At this point in time I swear I could murder every single employee at DICE and EA and Cybersmart along with their family members, grandparents, neighbours and friends.

To make matters worse, the EA forums are FILLED with people complaining about issues after the patch. If you want details go and have a look for yourself. From what I've read the game is largely unplayable for most people, and those who can play it seem pretty upset and dissapointed.

I thnk im gonna giv it some time... cybersmart and EA, hopefully it should work. i am jus happy that its not somethin wrong wit my pc cos i jus re-installed yesterday and got everythin back to normal.

I can't see people complaining about the play style, unless they where at the giving side of the bug fixes. As for the game itself, will see when the patch is finished. My game is patching without any problems what so ever. I'm holding thumbs that it goes down without a glitch though.
 
Only got the game a couple days ago. Had no issues (other than being a newbie and getting owned left right and centre) and even after the patch this afternoon I played a couple games and it was fine. But now I tried to load up and keep getting "you were disconnected from EA online" during the joining server process.

Tried Mweb server. Tried lots of random matchmaker servers as well. Same error time after time. Any ideas?
 
Nevermind, a reboot solved that.

Is there any way to play against other newbies only? It's tough enough trying to learn the game against guys who know the maps and have incredible skills, but add to that all the better gear they've unlocked and it's damn hard to get a foothold. Would be far more comfortable with somewhat lesser ranked players until I'm up to speed.

look around there are some international servers where you can learn to fly etc. sometimes they are ok other times they are full of chops. add me as a friend and i will try show which ones

although i am battling to connect to any games tonight internet seems to be playing up.

Unfortunately not. Trust me, EVERYONE struggles the first time they play and until they start getting nice unlocks. The only way to become better is to just stick it out, and going up against more skilled players only gives you more experience and confidence. Give it a week and you'll be up to speed.

I'm not even thinking about flying yet. I've only tried Team DM as is, just to keep it simple for the moment.

Thanks for the map link. Are there any general tips for bindings? A couple times I've died hitting f when I wanted to throw a grenade, so I'm thinking of maybe using the back mouse button for going prone and the forward button for grenade. Also, what is the default button for handing out meds and ammo. Is it q?

Game is a hell of a lot of fun, even if I'm constantly the weak link for my team.

Rather play conquest then team death match. Then at least you can choose where to spawn and take some time getting your bearings before going into battle. It will be easier to learn the maps like that as well.

Team death match is way more chaotic then conquest.
