BB 9900 & Vodacom. When?

I just posted this on another thread, but thought you guys would also enjoy it

So this is the updates i have gotten so far:

Vodacom says end of August which is very exciting
MTN says September some time (probably end) not that they were friendly on their twitter account
Nashua Mobile says end september/october.

Now what i found interesting is that the device software for the 9900 has been loaded onto the MTN support site, which means the phone has been networked configured and now we are just waiting for the release.
There is nothing on the Vodacom support site.

Just in case anyone cares

spoke to two mtn reps they both say october for the release of the 9900,im more keen for the 9810

Gauranteed first week September. Trust me.
Its almost R1000 more than a Torch though, I like it, kinda exclusive, still have to share that lousy apn with 8520 users grrrr.

I think i would move from MTN to get the phone, i have been waiting for it since who knows when

Yesterday I spoke to our Sales rep from nashua mobile who handles all our business accounts and she says phone WILL be launched in first week of September and will be included in the new deals which are published on the 7th Sep.

That is difficult to say as I dont know how much financial backing Vodacom might throw in on certain packages. It really is hard to speculate on this. As soon as I get the dealsheets I will update my sticky thread...scout's honour. :-)

Thanks much appreciated!! :)

Stevengzn, i really hope you are right, i just CANNOT understand why its soooo difficult to give a date. I really would prefer not to leave nashua

Thanks much appreciated!! :)

No probs. And just so you guys know...Vodacom SP is expecting the first shipment of the 9900 to land 1st week of September. We dont know what day in the week though. After the stock lands at warehouse you need to give a extra day or two for the stock to be dispatched to the stores that placed orders for it.

if vodacom is expecting the first shipment then when will other stores begin to get it like IC and Game etc....

No, hit me!!

Will do just now. Just busy with a contract activation on the system so I cant go out of it now.[/QUOTE]

Ah, dedication - that's why I'm with Vodacom!

Right....on Talk 130 you looking at a pay in of R2,989.00 including VAT. Keep in mind that there is no standard deals issued yet by Vodacom so I did this manually on our deal maker system. This could change when Vodacom creates national deals for this phone.

/offers fox a valium courtesy of Vodacom - How can we make you smile :-)

You can make me smile by confirming that the deals for this phone will be finalised by, and included in the 7th September edition??

Unlike other sales consultants I do not make promises I can not keep. I will however promise that as soon as I get the dealsheets I will update my sticky icky thread.
