Never saw that happen :p What I did see though was my 1 senior wanting to stay late to finish up some work but our Executive telling him to go home because work should never come before family.

So while I think a lot of the employees do work pretty damn hard (I did work with SARS as well), I do also think that it comes down to it being a personality trait for quite a few.

I enjoyed my time there. Great bunch of guys in my team and I'm still friends with a lot of them :) Although strangely a lot of my old team are now contracting out to where I now work :p

Any job with deadlines you are going to be expected to work late. It's not an every day occurrence. Normal days you work your 8 hours which is flexi time so you can come in late or early.

I don't agree with the carry your weight thing or at least I've never seen any of that here. There's no douche bag egos around (in my team at least) and everyone is more than willing to help you out if you need it. They are constantly having courses you can attend to gain more experience in different aspects.

As for free snacks, free drinks and big parties...true story :p Our end of year function this year we had a giant party with live bands which included The Parlatones, Jack Parrow, DJ Fresh, Mi Casa and Flash Republic.
