BBM on iPhone, Android: too late?

Bad Bad move. Either 2 years back or never.

When it comes time to upgrade, the only thing making users choose BB again is the fear of loosing their BBM contacts and the hardware keyboard.

I see this as a way for many people who were "locked in" by BBM to finally leave BB

My prediction is that BBM uptake on iOS and Android will be big but will not reduce the numbers of the other apps user numbers.

Having just made the move from a BB to a Samsung S4, Whatsapp picked up where I left BBM. Make no mistake though, this WILL cause many more people to move away from Blackberry devices as IMO, BBM was their last exclusive feature worth having.

My thoughts exactly.

This will definitely see a lot of people moving away from BB devices. I wonder id RIM have thought about this properly?

I do agree but a lot of BB users seem to think whatsapp cost the same a sending an SMS and only BBM is cheaper.

There are some die hard's that dislike BB and still don't want to understand that there are lots of cheap options now. I am often surprised how few people put data bundles on but complain about data.
