Durban - Two men employed to deliver beds are being sought by Durban police after they abducted a customer, took her to a secluded area and raped her, police said on Tuesday.

Inspector Solomon Mbhele said the 35-year-old woman purchased a bed from a Pinetown store on Monday and the two delivery men were meant to transport it, with the woman in the van, to her KwaNdingezi home.

Instead, they drove her to Mariannhill.

"They took her to a secluded spot where both of them raped her and left her there. The suspects left the area with the bed."

The woman later reported the case to police.

Mbhele said no arrests had been made yet, but he was confident of a breakthrough soon.

Police have opened a case of abduction, robbery and rape.

T.I.A ? :(

They probably rolled into work the next day like nothing had happened.

Yeah, I mean how hard can it be to catch them?

Some shops will use anyone with a van for their deliveries. Even if they did work for the shop, there is a big chance that the shop does not have their real names and residential addresses (if it exists at all). Sometimes you find these guys asking for piece jobs at street corners and pick them up to help you with menial tasks. How oftern do you bother to find out who they really are or where they live?

I didn't know that actually.

I thought most shops have delivery people who work for them(and are thus registered for tax, with copies of ID ect all verified.).
And wouldn't shops want to ensure that deliveries are actually made and thus make pretty sure those who deliver the goods are actually legit and that stock is not just being "picked up" if you know what I mean. Surely they can't truely be THAT naive to just get some joe from the street to deliver goods.

Unless this is from some dingy dodgy little shop who doesn't care for customar satisfaction(or potential lawsuits).
