I've been experiencing the same. My connection is on but can't browse or game.

My Openserve connection also Afrihost no problems at all.

Soon Openserve is going live in Ext 7 (Pre-orders open), just want to know from the people in Old Belhar who's using the Openserve network, how it has been in terms of stability, what speeds you signed up for and are you getting those speeds.

Also, how long from sign-up to installation?

Attached Openserve packages from Axxess and Afrihost. How I would love to go for the 500MBps/250MBps package (probably don't need it), but my wallet says no.

I'm on the 100/50 with Afrihost. Get full speed and haven't had a problem at all since moving from vumareach.

I was on pre-order for about 2 months waiting for Live status. Once area went live Openserve sent someone to install fibre cable in my home. Once that was done contacted Afrihost and the next day a Openserve techie came with the ONT. Once that was installed I connected the router and was doing a speed test.

Hope your area goes live soon.

So I guess it could still take a while since pre-orders opened only two weeks ago.

Guess Ill also go for the 100MBps/50MBps option. That upload speed is good enough.

Just glad we have faster options now.

Is the ONT also the router or did you disable the wifi on it and enabled wifi on your router? Basicaly do you require a separate router to use it?

Thanks for your reply.

The way I understand it is the ONT is the gateway for your router to access the internet. ONT is provided by Openserve, while your router is provided by your ISP if you choose to take it from them or get your own one.

@AfriNatic could you provide some insight please?

Yes we offer 2 x services in Belhar.

1. Openserve Fibre Connect. 25Mbps up to 500Mbps. This service requires a router which we supply for free or you can use your own. The ONT is locked.
2. Openserve Web Connect. 10Mbps up to 20Mbps. This service does not need a router and the ONT is a hybrid ONT/Router device.

Ja, something I'll move over to in the new year. Thanks for the responses guys.

To think that 2 years ago I thought that Belhar was only going to get fibre in 2023-2024, and here we have 2 FNO's and Rain 5G to choose from. :)

No issues my side. Also did a speedtest now and everything seems fine. (ext7-Musicals side)

There is a network outage on vuma side that is on the afrihost notification tab and they sent out a sms to customers
