Hi guys so I've been taking benzos for over a year now and I've tried quitting several times but when I do so, I get really bad withdrawals like insomnia (not being able to fall asleep again) which is the reason I keep going back onto the pill.

I've tried OTC pills such as somnil but it didn't do anything to me, is there any good OTC pill out there that has the closest effect to a benzo? Something like maybe a tranquiliser cause benzos seem to be the only type of pill to make me fall asleep at night. Suggestions on how to get myself out of this addiction please?

I was thinking of trying out CBD (it is a vape liquid) some guys have said it helps them fall asleep but it doesn't have the sedative effect like a benzo.. do you think this could work for me? I need a solution please If anybody else was addicted to such pills like I am

Get professional help. Something to wean you off.

You get different strands of Cannabis.

But do you think trying out the CBD could help? It contains THC

It should help you sleep.

My advice: Get professional help. Don't dig yourself into a bigger hole, especially if you easily addicted.

There are many organisations that will help you for free.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to do so. (Money wise)
its worse to go it alone, had a friend of mine addicted to benzos,

bounced between rehab and addiction for a number of years.

eventually professional help did help, but parents paid the hefty bill.

maybe thats an option for you?

CBD alone wont be enough, you need a THC based product, something like a coconut oil mix. Ive helped a number of people get off some heavy sleeping pills with a 1:20 mix of pure cannabis oil and coconut oil. A pea sized amount an hour before bed is generally all thats needed.

Get professional medical help.

Benzo withdrawals( esp for those with severe physical dependence, and OP you sound like a classic case...can end in death if not treated properly)

Okay, so you're talking about valium...which I use occasionally (my doc will only give me 10 at a time & I only go to my doc about twice/thrice a year) but they're actually quite cheap. For sleeping I take Zolpiden (aka Zolnox/Ambien). It's supposed to be non-addictive, but I've gone through phases of taking it non-stop for weeks. The main reason I take it is to sleep when stressed/ill, or it's too hot at night. It works fairly consistently, but the main side-effect is a 'zombified' feeling the next day & over the long term (just ask Rosanne Barr). You also may not feel like you've really slept when you wake up, but it's better than not getting any sleep.

Zolpidem is HIGHLY addictive!

Where can I find these products? I'm based in durban, a friend of mine was also kind of addicted to a pill and he tried out the Vape CBD liquid he says it knocks him out cold vaping it before sleeping.

Don't freak me out lol I'm only addicted to it for just over a year I don't think I'm really deep into it. I just need a propper substitute mainly for my insomnia.

I've taken it all.. but the latest one I've been taking is Bromazepam 3mg. It's not very heavy but it helps me sleep

It seems like the tranquil effect of this pill is the main reason why I'm so addicted to it, because that knocks me out. Do you guys know of any OTC that may have the same effect as this type of pill?

Before you buy 1 more pack of 2,5,10mg think v v v carefully!!!!!...go and do some research before you pop that sweetie into your mouth.

You have issues that need to be addressed, and pouring substance abuse over them is not going to solve it.
Hard truth, but it's time you heard it maybe.

Unless of course you don't value your life or those of your loved ones , then carry on regardless....

Hmm... Where did you read that?

Irfaan I would really recommend you see someone because just using something else to cover the one addiction is just going to get worse...

Addiction to Ambien
ambien-pill-e1423590777857-238x179.jpg

Ambien is in a class of drugs known as sedative-hypnotics. This non-benzodiazepine “z-drug” has the same medical effectiveness as benzodiazepines like Xanax without the same hazardous and habit-forming properties those drugs are known for.
The makers of Ambien designed and marketed the drug as a less addictive alternative to benzos for people with acute insomnia.
Although it is not as habit-forming as benzos, Ambien is an addictive substance.
An addiction to this drug can form in as little as two weeks. Many people don’t know they have a problem until they stop taking the drug and realize they cannot sleep without it. The presence of withdrawal symptoms is one of the main signs of an addiction.
