Best Android Phone For October 2015

Cleary water RESISTANCE and front facing speakers don't matter as much as you would love to think as sales stats say the opposite. Last I checked Sony are not even in the top 10.

The phones I suggested have great usability, are built well and are better than anything Sony are doing right now.

By the time the OP upgrades (October) the Samsung S6 Edge Plus (5.5 / 5.7 inches) will be out. A bigger version of the S6 Edge would be interesting but most likely the price will be unacceptably high.

The sales within Android speak volumes, Samsung dropped SD card and removable batt in the S6/S6Edge, and both didn't make S5 numbers, Sony have been making water resistant phones, and yet their mobile division continues to make losses...
Clear indication that consumers don't find water resistance as important as you would like to think it is, same with front facing speakers.

I would take (if they could make it "drop proof", as in no problem if it falls down about 2m>) battery life > performance > speakers > water.

Under performance I also take the ability to do what I want with it, so customize.

It's the same thing. Samsung sells more because they advertise more to the sheep. No other reason.

Actually no, you're wrong again.

Samsung's sales peaked when they had been spending more on R&D, their sales have been dwindling since they pushed their budget towards advertising, and the S6/6E seem to be the worst hit, the S4/5 is when they peaked.

Unfortunately for you I am not a fanboy, I look at the numbers.

Back to the topic:
LG G4, Note 4, and Huawei Mate 7 are your best bets.

Xperia Z3 is old with a dated CPU, the S6 and S6 Edge have no MicroSD Slot, and the Xperia Z3+ & Htc M9 are using the awful Snapdragon 810 that overheats. I would avoid anything with that chip.
If you can, wait for Note 5.

Not that I have any claim to know diddly about the insides of smartphones, I am happy with my Note 4. The camera is great. It is a step up from my S4 when it comes to processing speeds. I love the size of the screen (helping my aging eyes ).

The Note 4 is an amazing phone. Arguably even the best available. Personally I prefer on-screen navigation buttons though, so I'd opt for a Nexus 6 or OnePlus Two if I was in need of a new phone.
