Best Android phones out there?

Okay cool, any more opinions? Phones that are already available. Honestly I'm still not sure which phone to buy... I want to buy one for me and my fiance. I used to love motorola, but the last motorola I owned was the Razer v4 I think it was called. And had massive software problems... currently I have a nokia 5230 and I hate nokia. So where to from here? If you guys are able to link me some contracts to these phones that'll help too! :p
 
@ocleroux so let's say I buy two motorola phones... and they are faulty? Where exactly do you live so I can come annoy you at midnight about it then. Hehe :p

I have had it now for about two months.
 
Best phones but very expensive:
Galaxy S2
HTC Sensation
LG Optimus 2x and Motorola Atrix are supposed to be very good too but I have no experience with them...

Very good phones for decent prices but not the newest models. Can easily be upgraded to latest OS, much developer support:
Samsung Galaxy S
HTC Desire HD
Nexus S

Best Budget Android (specs worse than all above):
Motorola Defy (no front camera, non-blur version lacks FB sync, 2.3.3 only available via developers and for red lense model)


I wouldn't suggest the Galaxy Ace due to its much inferior display
 
Looks like the defy also has a more 'snappy' graphic processor than the desire... Despite the fact that it has a slightly less clocked CPU (800mhz), I got 1290 Quadrant score, which is a wink under the Nexus one :D (I'm running froyo btw).

It also has one of the best music players I've seen, it downloads album art and the lyrics, and syncs the lyrics to the song. Which is really epic :D.

Also, R129 pm on an MTN TopUp 100, you can't beat that!

Hmmm, as for upper tier phones, look at: Galaxy S2, Optimus 2x, and Moto Atrix (The HTC sensation looks like it's having mixed reviews, and the GPU in is isn't performing that well - possibly drivers issues)
 
I'm very very interested in the HTC Desire S, but it's not yet available here... except through Virgin Mobile @ R300 p/m... Which I might just go for, but problem is I'd like ot get my fiance a more or less same phone... so then it's down to the HTC Wildfire for her, or the HTC mozart... which one would you guys suggest?
 
Im with Ocleroux on this.
Had my Defy for a week now and am still totally in love with this rugged little android and I tend too get bored very quickly.

Motorola Defy is dust proof and water resistant....and not water proof.
 
Galaxy S 2 - undoubtedly the best screen, best performance, great camera. Yeah
 
I'm honestly considering the motorola defy now, I've been watching endless videos of guys keeping the phone under a open tap or dropping it in a bath full of water in mid call. So it's a really rugged phone. And also the reason being I need 2 phones and not just one and it's a good price for a android phone. My fiance likes to throw her phone around, but it's not due to her being aggressive or anything, she's just really clumsy.

So my next question would be which contracts are the cheapest? And which gives you the most bang for your buck.
 
Best or cheapest? You have to choose and make tradeoffs. There are so many options and opinions out there. I would say iPhone 4 contracts are the best deal going but that's me.
 
Red Bull. R250, 300 anytime anynetwork minutes, 100 sms and 500Mb. Can't beat that.

I got tired of the moto smashing from my friend so I put my phone in a glass of water for around a minute to silence the doubter.
I even received an sms while it was in the drink.
I would say its pretty waterproof,even though it does clearly state water resistant.
That old blue nokia with the rubber casing never survived a drop in the toilet,and too this day my father still has the dead handset.
That is the difference between water resistant and proof in my opinion.

I have a Sony Xperia Arc, and can highly recommend it - great screen, great camera, great specs and great performance !

Did I mention that it also looks great ! And it came with a 16GB SDHC card !

Yeah!!! Great choice. I'm very keen on getting the Pro, but may just take the Arc if the Pro is still not out middle of July.
