Best App for SA books

I only noticed now that the SA iTunes bookstore only has free books. The US Store has everything, as usual. Typing in "South Africa" in the search field lists a huge amount of South African content. Maybe you should have a look at the US iTunes bookstore via iBooks.

Now that Kobo has done a deal with Pick 'n Pay I imagine that will make them attractive to South African authors. There is an iOS Kobo app.

I'm assuming you're referring to books written by South Africans, etc.
I don't know of any app, your best option would be to shop on Kalahari.com and Exclusives online site (in your browser) and see which South African books are also available as eBooks - you can then buy from said sites, download and "Open in" iBooks, etc. While some authors have eBooks on Amazon, the majority would be on the two local sites I referred to - either in ePub format or PDF.
The selection might not be that great at the moment, but it is growing. I have a friend who wrote a series of books for children and teenagers in the 80s & 90s who recently signed a new contract with her publisher to have them all converted to eBooks.

Kobo got south african books (including Afrikaans books) , worth a look.

There is also Amazon , the Kindle App, they got South african and Afrikaans books too, although it's not as prominently categorised as Kobo. Kobo got an Afrikaans section right there on the front page, where amazon you need to search for it.

I personally prefer Kindle, because i already got a bunch of books on my account and i'm also using Audible which is the audiobook shop (also owned by Amazon). So my account integrates to both eBooks and Audiobooks.
I have however seen books for sale on Kobo that wasn't on Amazon and vice versa. So worth shopping around. As was mentioned, Kobo is more likely to be "South african friendly" due to partnership with PnP. I have not found Amazon to be very South African friendly recently, alot of region restrictions on their content and often find myself trying to jippo the region system to get to books that are not in the SA Amazon store.
