Afrihost and Webafrica recently lowered their capped ADSL prices – here is how they compare to SA’s best competing deals.

The value comparison is meaningless without the Telkom cost of connectivity. For a 10mbps capped account the capped products are all affordable in the bigger picture. What matters is the shaping (/under provision of bandwidth), international internet breakout quality and reliability and in a war on price the quality lands last whereas it's almost meaningless if one looks at the big picture.

I also landed one. Still the sweetest deal of them all if you were lucky enough to grab the promotion when it was running. I am holding onto that account for dear life.

You'll need an active Telkom voice line before DSL can be provisioned/ checked for line speed feasibility.

I have Business Capped from WA for R199 per month. 100Gb + 1000Gb. And I get 5% off that as I am a reseller.

Data is cheap. The fact that I have to pay Telkom R500 just for a 4Mb line is the huge problem here.

We're running a promotion until the end of January, all the Capped accounts - apart from the 1-GB Free account - will receive unlimited bandwidth between 00h00 and 06h00.

The mandatory Telkom portion is the only problem with ADSL now. Otherwise data prices have been quite pocket friendly lately
