I need to stop eating sh*t, so I'm thinking of getting some protein shakes (resist the temptation of making a joke), but there are too many to choose from. Is there any particular brand that you would recommend?

Shakes isn't the best solution either.

Instead of curbing your appetite - why not just eat healthy, whole foods?

After reading the initial post I immediately thought to myself why do you feel "stop eating crap" and drinking protein shakes go hand in hand, and I see a few others have already mentioned this.

If you want to stop eating crap and feel the best way to do this is to curb your appetite, byt which I presume you actually mean fill up on something else rather than unhealthy food, then look at snacking on healthy alternatives. Possibly nuts, fruit (bananas are always quick and easy), yoghurts, fresh fruit juice and the like. When you feel hungry grab those and not the chips, fizzy drinks and the like.

Duromine ... not really a supplement and your BMI needs to be over 30 before a doctor will even consider prescribing it but you'll most definitely (or more than likely) stop eating sh*t :)

I just want to curb my appetite. Getting shakes will do that and it won't have any carbs/fat/sugar.

The easiest way to curb your appetite is to eat Low GI foods, they take longer to digest and you feel full for longer. The plus side you lose weight naturally, I have lost over 20 Kilos over the past 18 months just eating low GI foods. I have more energy, sleep better, and blood pressure is very good.

Cut out the chemicals and eat more natural/unprocessed foods.

Low GI doesn't work for everyone. I'm one of them. I actually fill up on simple carbs much quicker, and stay fuller for longer. But I would suggest changing things along that train of thought.

Change your eating habits as ClintZA said. Nuts work wonders due to the fat. They will give you more energy, and keep you going. However, do not add that to a big mac or the like. You're going to have to change everything from the base up. Get a good solid foundation, and stick with it. It will take a while, but your body will stop craving those *** foods after a while. When you put salt in your mouth after a month without, you will be blown away as to how you did it for so long.

There is no shake that is going to help with your carvings mate. If you still want to go that route, get a 100% whey. What I do, is have a few handfuls of air popped popcorn. Works a charm. Or some plain yogurt with a few cut up pieces of fruit. Those are my "Snack" foods, along with some almonds, unsalted.

They all the same just different brands. Find one that tastes nice and fits your budget if you using it for a meal replacement then you dont need to worry about the details like you a pro athelete

Fresh fruit and veggies.

Banana's, apples, grapes, oranges, avo's, tomatoes, gems etc. There is no shake that will give you that goodness. Oats is also an amazingly good choice for breakfast.

When you feel like junk have an apple or some grapes. Tasty and very good for you. You cannot fix bad eating habits with shakes.

Seed loaf from woolies is also the business :D. Quit white/brown bread entirely. Low GI bread only.

You are trying to take a short cut to health and honestly the only way be be healthy is to eat healthy and it's a mission but well worth it. Oats and a grape fruit in the morning followed shortly by a banana :D. Boring, not very tasty but great for your health.

Is there a reason you want protein shakes? Are you gyming?

I use evox. Like the others said, start eating whole foods.

Edit: Whey is expensive so rather get protein from natural food if you dont exercise much.
