Best FREE internet Security

How much of pc resources does running two or more of these av, fw, asw etc products use up?

NEVER use more than one AntiVirus or Firewall at the same time. They will conflict and provide less protection, not more. Running 2 or more Antispyware programs however, is a good thing and I recommend it.

For the #1 Internet Security Solution, buy BitDefender v10. ;)

I use Bitdefender myself V10. Have been for a long time.

Here is another free Antivirus Get free PC security at http://www.cyberdefender.com I have not used it myself.

Yeah.... I also love my BitDefender. It's a very handy piece of software. :)

To be honest, I'd rather use avast 4.0 with Comodo Firewall and AVG antispyware than CyberDefender.

CyberDefender has won no VBulletin awards, it's not ICSA certified and.... I've never heard of it,, while avast has won numerous awards over the past few years. Also, Cyberdefender isn't under the official Top 10 antivirus programs in the world.

That's why ;)

I ran avast - noenoes still got thru and corupted the server - so much that we had to rebuild - now forked out 5K for mcafee-

Did you run the free version? It's only an antivirus, so there is still a big chance that malware will infect your network if you're not behind a firewall.

On my boss's pc we got infected using Nortons. Now I'm running those 3 free Avg products, Zonealarm free firewall and Adware free AS and haven't had any problems in over 2 years:D

I had Trend installed - but it seemed to miss some of the malware- that is why I had AVast as well, and spybot , and some horrid thingy got thru and trashed the server- Was fine for three years- till recently

Now you have MCafee @ 5K. Still regular updates regular scans. After 3 years I think you became complacent.:p :p

McAfee is no better than Norton. It's a resource hog, and doesn't detect rootkits very well. I don't think it features a registry startup scan either. Sad really, as it comes with a pretty hefty price tag. :(
