Hey Greg, any other cool apps you would recommend?
I'll give it a try... For productivity or reference have a look at Evernote (on your phone and machine), Google Mobile and Google Earth, AroundMe, CNN, Sky and Time Mobile, Convert Units, Currency, Dictionary, DStv Guide, G-Park, Where To?, iTranslate, Lifehacker, My Eyes Only, NASA app, On This Day, Skype, any of the Sleepmakers, SnapTell, Tea Round or Coin Free, Things, Urban Dictionary and The Weather Channel. For some light amusement, SoundHound, Wolfgang's Concert Vault, Last.fm, Cyanide & Happiness, Louvre (awesome walk through of the gallery) and Percolator (great effects for photos). For games, try FIFA 2010 or 2011, Grand Theft Auto, GT Racing, Guitar Hero, Invaders and Meteors (old school Space Invaders and Asteroids), Madden NFL, Midnight Pool or Anytime Pool, MMA by EA, N.O.V.A, Pac-Man, Resident Evil 4, SimCity, The Sims 3 or The Sims 3 Ambitions, Skate It by EA or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, some of the Sonic games and Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X...
WOW... if you have all of this on your phone..... all I can say is....Respect!. Thats a big collection. I will give some of them a try. I have some of them and some of them don't interest me. But there is alot that I am going to have to try.
That's the whole thing with apps... There are apps for everyone. I'm running plenty of apps I haven't even mentioned 'cos they are more interesting to me and probably have no real value to anyone else. You'll find you'll end up downloading apps as and when you have a need for them (or think you need them). You'll also find you download apps for specific interests... I have apps like WeGolf but you might not be a golfer, I have the Liverpool FC app but you might be a Manchester man... Some are great for everyday use, others are cool to have a look at once or twice... I've downloaded 9gigs of the things but don't have them all synced to my phone... The apps that are fun to have a look at once or twice ones would just be taking up space. It all depends on the individual user.
iTunes have apps of the week and Staff recommendations which are updated regularly and it's a great place to start when looking for new apps. Some good advice would be to open a US iTunes store account if you can just so you have a wider range of choice than the apps in the local iTunes store. Also keep checking apptrackr for new releases and updates...
You'll also find as you go that you like apps from particular developers... For me, I've found I prefer games from EA and Gameloft so I keep checking for their updates and new releases.
There are 200 000+ apps in the app store so there will always be something new or something you didn't know was there before and that's half the fun.
Thanks for all the advice mate. Yes I do have a US iTunes account
oh BTW I hope the Liverpool app came free.... Not worth paying for anything "Liverpool" in the current climate![]()
Hahaha... We still live of the 80's and 2005...
Can anyone recommend an app to download YouTube videos?
Try MxTube through Cydia...

YourTube 2 is the best. Adds a download option to the standard Youtube app.

You would have to search for iBluenova not Bluetooth.
Besides, the last working version of iBluenova was on 2.X or something firmware.
Thanks FXIT, is it available on Cydia or through the iTunes store?

I double checked and according to a number of web pages, iBluenova does support ios 3.x. I couldn't find it on Cydia though and I was unable to add the iSpazio repo to Cydia for all my energy.
In the end I found the .deb file on some file sharing site. I installed it and it works nicely! (so far anyway) I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to send / receive files via bluetooth from their iPhone.
