All free except Whatsapp - but definitely value for money. We have group chats with the family. Download emoji for more fun.

A few friends in the past used one of the apps, they were hooked as it being the best thing ever - that was after a few days use, I dunno if they still use it long term. I haven't tried any of them personally though.

Really, WOW! I thought it was just a gimmick. There should be a free app somewhere, guess its worth a try.
 
I'm sure there are free/lite versions of the apps that you could try out without splashing out the cash and finding it a waste of money if it doesn't work for you. Be interested to hear your feedback if you find something.
 
My list of best apps (Paid - US Store)

8MM Video ---- cool video effects as you are recording...
Momento ----- Daily diary, ties in with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Foursquare etc
Awesome Note ----- Great and beautiful note taking app...
Music Studio ----- Extremely advanced music creation app - with loads of instruments. Good looking app - works like a bomb - plenty of samples
Photo Studio ----- Loads of great effects for your images
Half Tone ----- Add speech bubbles to pics or make them look like comic strips
 
Best games I have installed

Infinity Blade - best graphics to date
Broken sword - great story - and excellent on iPhone
Secrets of Monkey Island 2
Sword and Sworcery

Other smaller games

Dunno if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes.
I'm looking for a GPS type app that will record speed and distance, free is my favorite price.
Don't need maps or turn by turn navigation, just wanna record speed and distance travelled.

You could check out aSmart HUD, I don't know if it will do the job for you, currently free (well it was when I looked last)
 
Does anyone know if the bluetooth app that was in development is ready? I think it was called Celeste?? Also when is iMessage going to be launched?

Yep imessage with iOS5 in September... As for celeste, its really buggy. Cracked or paid version (",)...
