Best ISP and Line Speed

Hi Guys

I'm so pissed with the quality i get with Afrihost when playing Call Of Duty AW. I use xbox live and my pin is always below 2 out of 4 bars??! I currently have a 10mbs line and a 100GB capped package with afrihost.

Can Anyone help with whats going wrong here..I live very close to the exchange..maybe 1km max and there always a lag. In my area the max line speed i can get is 40mbs.

My uncle has a 4mbs uncapped mweb account and he plays with me over the holidays...2 players at the same time with not a hint a lag...perfection all the time.

Help please
 
Im going through the same problems at the moment. Signed up with Webafrica and mweb to test your it out. Webafrica was maybe a little worse than afrihost. I also live right on the exchange. Will see how mweb performs once that is activated.

just to give you some insight - Afrihost is fully aware of there issues on the xbox live network - I had endless conversations with them only to be told on mybroadband that there is a known problem.
chats and sessions disconnect etc.

i have since switched to webafrica and for the first time got a full 4MB connection (not theoretical) and super low pings in the 12 to 18ms range.

Crystal web is also very good.

Using a 10Mbps shaped, uncapped line at home (Web Africa). So far, their service has been pretty consistent.
I would actually recommend WA. Your results may vary, depending on where you live.
 
Axxess is also a problem for games.

Lot's of latency spikes that disappear on WebAfrica. This week the spikes stopped but it's taking a long time to load, so perhaps they've swapped shaping with throttling. Either way, gaming is a minefield.

You need something IS based for gaming.

For the same price as that 100GBs from Afrihost you can get 60GBs+240GBs from Web Africa:
