Best Laserjet colour printer for >R7K?

Hi there,

I am spending gazillions having glossy docs printed at the corner print store, R6/page 180pg report, and figure it more feasible to just buy a decent colour laserjet, howevre doing research on this is near impossible as most suppliers don't know nancy bout printers..and their range is limited.. so is there anybody with any experience with this? my budget is R7K and i would prefer anything above 600x600dpi..

I got a Samsung CPL 315 for home use. Very well priced, got mine for R1500 at incredible corruption. Not sure how much printing it can do, but so far I am very happy.

OK.. semantics then.. i have a budget of s-e-v-e-n t-h-o-u-s-a-n-d r-a-n-d, please advise what is the best laserjet colour printer I can get. clear enuff? Thanks for the leads on the samsung and Epson guys, will take a look. At R1500, what am I losing compared to a printer of say R6K? i currently have 2 x HP laserjet 1600, which were decent and cost near R3K when I bought them, so hoping for something with better quality.

I reckon the HP CP2025dN, it has a duplexer and Networking, for R7k. If you want to spend less, then the Samsung CLP-620ND, for around R6k. When looking at Laser printers, the extra cost is usually linked to capacity (prints per month), speed (prints per minute), and features such as networking and duplexing. In terms of quality, all Laser printers usually offer similar levels of generally high quality.

thanks Conradl! just the answer I was looking for. really appreciate your input. Essentially if I am less concerned with speed and connectivity then any colour laserjet at R3K would offer the same quality? thansk again.

Broadly speaking yes. On business documents it is virtually impossible to tell which printer a document was printed on - obviously certain printers will offer better quality than others, but the average user will have no clue. Pricing increases very quickly when the speed/volume increases, and when you start adding additional trays, duplexers and hard drivers....
