Good Day

I am looking to build a download rig in the near future and I need it to be as lightweight as possible to help reduce power consumption. Lubuntu looks quite good, what would you recommend?

Lubuntu should do very well.

What do you need on the download rig? A gui, DE, and some gui apps, then yes, Lubuntu would get my vote.

If you only need CLi, then I would go Arch base install.

Screw Lubuntu, go for Crunchbang.

Lubuntu is actually quite bloated once you sit down and have a good look at it.

Crunchbang is based on Debian and pretty stable as well. I would actually go for the Waldorf testing image right now.

If it will just be used for downloading, then puppy Linux or DSL will serve you fine.
