Best Pizza Place ? Quality VS Value ?

We got sick two times in a row from Romans Pizza. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice I was hungry and too lazy to cook. But no way in hell I'm riding the porcelain scooter like it's Jenna Jameson 3 times in a row.
 
I buy my pizzas almost exclusively from Pizza Perfect, because they have the free delivery option. Their pizzas are good, but Romans are better IMO. Nothing beats an extra large thick base chicken pizza. Yummy.
 
For our local delivery choices (Cape Town) we vastly prefer Butlers, always nice and piping hot and never any hassles, Debonair's and St Elmos on the other hand... I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole especially since they have all gone halal, damnit! I WANT MY BACON!!

If you want more artsy pizza Col'Cacchio's are very good!
 
I have asked this question lots of times in University where every cent is counted. I have calculated mathematically, based on rand per square centimeter, that Roman's pizza is the cheapest pizza available if you consider only the major suppliers such as Panarotti's, Debonairs, Romans, Scooters, etc. You're welcome!
 
"Wonder Why" pizza from Akhalwayas in fordsburg.. R140 A pizza but it is well worth it. Although, it is not something for everyone.
 
Miguel's Al Forno Pizzeria, the best "Italian" pasta/pizza restaurant in False Bay, quality and price, simply unbeatable. There is other pizza gems (e.g. LJ's Pizzeria in Somerset West) in Helderberg, the rest however is "everyday" fast food.
 
Well I grew up with Pizza Hut in Europe and nobody touches the stuff because it tastes like plastic! And hella-expensive.
You go down to your local Italian dude (next to the Chinese dude, Turkish dude, and Pakistani 7/11 family ) and you get a real pizza for a decent price....

Not in SA seems.

Romans is alright for the price, but in the last 3 years It went from "I can't believe all the stuff on my pizza, taste is awesome" to "I can't find any vegetables on my vegi pizza..."

But most off all, and what really makes me mad is the fact that one cannot find a decent Quattro Formaggi pizza in this bloody country! how difficult a pizza is this? Sauce + 4 cheeses...
It might be because the pizza making people speak more Venda then Italian.
But I'm sure Italian people could hook me up with pap!

The guys a Food Lovers Market make a somewhat decent 4 cheese pizza for a decent price so when the urge gets high enough I drive to the one at the old johannesburg road.
(also a good place to sell your car, get an offer at that place every time)

Oh and last....
My wifes loves Dr. oetkers R35 pizza imitation pancakes allot
 
Cafe Pescado in Simonstown. Proper,non franchise, thin crust,wood fired pizza.

Best Pizza I had in my life was at Forno Campo De' Fiori in Rome.
 
I was thinking about this thread on my travels earlier. Remembered that there is a place in Kloof called La Pizza Pazza.

They're far from cheap. But man oh man, their Pizza's rock :wtf:

You have to book as they're quite popular. And you get a complementary focaccia bread :D

Their bases are really thin, which I found quite surprisingly enjoyable.

Even though I'm near there almost every day, it was early last year that I went there last. To this day the pizza I had there remains the best I've ever had - better than Pizza Perfect.

I'd take this over something like Romans any day, with a smile on my face, even though it costs a small fortune.

It's a definite quality over quantity for me.
 
I must say im suprised at the amount of people that rate pizza perfect. I have eaten there twice now and both times the pizza was terrible. Colcacchios for me

Try Akhals Pizza in Church Street Fordsburg
Order a WONDER WHY (Chicken or Steak) ........... 1 of the best clay oven pizza's i ever tasted and its very addictive. Has chips on the pizza and many other toppings.

Another 1 is "La Padrino Pizza" - located in Emmerentia Greenside and / Lenasia
order the "La Padrino Special Pizza" Also clay oven pizza.

Many people @ our work and friends tasted both pizzas and now only what those 2.
