Hi guys

The missus is getting her iPhone 4s in a matter of days and she wants a really good pouch. One that preferably has a clip to close/open it. Something like

or

.
It would be better if there was a pouch that encloses the entire phone. It would also be better if one of the local stores sell them.

Thanks!

I don't own any apple products but did have luck on bidorbuy for my smartphone when I could not find a decent pouch at stores.

Cheap and hassle free and I made sure to do a check on the seller first.

Cygnet workmate...

Solid rubber pouch. I love mine. It is a bit bulky but makes handling the iPhone a very pleasant experience. I find the phone incredibly fragile feeling and it's smooth and slippery in hand without a pouch. So much easier to grip and handle in the workmate. Pouch is also very easy to clean. I run mine under the tap and it's sorted.

Good cover but surely not good for pockets on tight fitting pants, etc.

In my experience, 'slider' cases are best - fit snugly and offer excellent protection. Since the cover isn't flush with the flat plane of the screen, the screen is protected from being dropped on any flat surface. So low profile cover with good protection.

Just my 2c...

mmm, but when the phone is out the pouch it is essentially naked and when in use is when one is most likely to drop it...

Agreed, so for pouches that completely detach from around the phone / let the phone be totally removed, some other sort of cover would be needed for complete peace of mind. Something like that Hard Candy Slider would possibly fit in the Cygnett pouch, or other slim covers. Not too sure though...

FWIW iPhone 4 + carbon fibre back sticker fits perfectly in the Spect pouch. If you're not going for a complete surround case, at least get the carbon fibre back sticker so you can put the phone on surfaces without being scratched at the back.

I've dropped mine 4 x now and it's never just a simple drop, I inevitably juggle the thing before losing control which usually only adds to the momentum and sometimes height from which the device is falling!!!! Twice on a tar road and twice on tiles and other than elevated blood pressure absolutely no consequences thanks to the workmate...

Good to know - confirms the research I did. For outdoors/travelling on the road and such, the Workmate is best.

I use a speck candy shell for mine, I'm quite clumsy and my last two iPhones both fished their life cycle without a mark... Will only use speck products
