Hey Guys :)

So obviously, as looking into the uncapped market, Mweb has been my first choice but later on as I wondered into some forums I got the sense that Mweb's 384 kbps Uncapped Solution was heavily shaped, unreliable and all together a waste of money.
I looked into other ISPs such as Afrihost, Axxess and Openweb but it was unclear as to which ISP is for me.
So my question is... Which ISP package should I take if I want a 384 kbps account under R300 pm that does not heavily shape P2Ps or at least not during night time ( I expect to be doing around 10 - 20 GB pm and will be doing quite a bit of damage on Youtube) ?
Please feel free to share your experience about the above mentioned ISPs or any other ISP for that matter.
* I would preferably like a ISP with an Office in Cape Town, Call Centers are great for after hours and all but I like the human contact and not having to pay online but if push comes to shove my credit card is equipped to pay online *
Thanks guys

the best ever....

If you anticipate to only use between 10 and 20 a month, maybe a capped option will be better. i.e. no need to worry about shaping.

I have been down the EneMWEB road, and it truly was the worst buying experience of my life.

I have been with Openweb since, and the service received is around 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 x 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% better.

384k on Openweb: I would suggest their Gold uncapped for R318. I am yet to be shaped. I also have their 4Mbps Gold, which runs like a dream

I can only comment between Mweb and Afrihost. And between those 2 Mweb wins.

Afrihost would throttle you as you cross certain thresholds, after the first threshold, it was practically unusable.

@cableguy.Does this mean you satisfied with Openweb?
Just making sure.

yeah on my uncapped last month (Trial) I downloaded a mere 25gigs.

So it might be more beneficial to have a capped solution for me with unshaped speeds.

Thanks for the replies guys. If I were to go to Openweb, would you suggest the Uncapped Lite Package because the Sales Person told me this is a great account if I expect to be doing less than 40GB pm and the account is unshaped. Would you suggest the Gold Shaped account ( Only thing I can afford ) why? ( I see that many people have chosen this account for gaming - I expect to be doing very little if any gaming on this line )
Also considering Mweb again since it is the most convenient option, with Mweb's R219 Uncapped 384 kbps account does shaping happen 24/7/365 or will P2P speeds be better at night or during weekends?
