Best uncapped WiMax solution?

Nice. Do you play blops by any chance?

No I haven't bothered getting it because of the MP being flawed.

I have COD4, W@W and MW2 though.

So I can't compare the LAG with BLOPS (If thats what you wanted to ask?).

I played BC1 the other day and the lag is definitely allot less than with my previous ISP.

I still have to get my BC2 back which I lent to a friend, my torrent speeds are what I pay for so I'm happy (Average transfer rate of 50Kbps-65Kbps).

With Xbox LIVE I get 3-4 bars in MW2 (W@W = 4 Bars) depending on host, which is weird cause allot of 512kbps ADSL guys only get 3.

No, I asked because I was talking to someone on blops on tuesday about his wimax that he has and he also gets it through a small IT company where he stays. No offense, but both you guys stay in a small town and yet you are able to get Wimax, I stay in one of the biggest cities and yet, I can't get (something that works) :(

Oh ok sorry.

ADSL is the norm in the city as it's widely available.

Here in Limpopo there is a huge market for WiMaX as most people live 10km= out of town where ADSL lines are not available at all.

So I guess it's got to do with supply and demand, I mean these guys can't keep up with all the requests anymore.

Makes sense, but we can't get adsl in our complex as there is no coper available and from what I have heard, only after 25% of the complex has requested for ADSL, will they consider it... :erm:

I wouldn't recommend iBurst or Neotel but if it was my only option I would consider them.

Do you have any wireless coverage what-so-ever?

Yeah, I have coverage for Telkom and Screamer Wimax. Currently using Iburst. Had screamer, but I had to much problems with it and Telkom says I don't have coverage, even though I have tested it.

Same story with me:cry:, so then there are only a few options left. And it is not easy to decide who to go for:cry:

And mine was/is working fine, especially now that I can play Blops again

I've only heard bad things about Screamer.

Maybe look around for small companies doing WiMaX, in my experience small companies often have great service. (They tend to keep their customers happy).

I know of a few small business's around here. (A few friends who run a small WiMaX network for example.)

Only advice I can give is to look around and see if you can find some more options. (I know iBurst sucks)

Let me know if you need any help :)

Thanx dude, but I have tried to look around for someone else that uses WiMax, but either my googleing skills sux or there just aren't any. :(

Mmm... Maybe see if you can put up your own WiMaX antenna and 1 @ a friends house, then connect to him and share a line or something like that?

Just an idea, don't know how practical it would be though.

If I am correct, the equipment costs something like R2500+ a piece, so not worth it. :)

Thanx for your help anyway.

My equipment cost me about R1500.

Just keep in mind, the standers equipment wasn't powerful enough for me (I'm 8km out of town) so the normal stuff would cost you less.

But yeah, I reckon you won't get away with less than R2k. (For everything, meaning the equipment for both houses) :)

Waiting for someone to contact me on live support, cause I don't see a coverage map.

Would you mind telling us about the costs, installation times and all that?

Left a message. They mailed me and long story short, they sent someone to my house to test signal and that is the last I heard from them. I am gonna mail her again and hear whats up...

I called DC Connect as well as a couple of companies offering similar products this morning, and i have to say DC Connect we a lot more supportive just hope i have coverage.
