Best way to clone a HDD?

There's nothing wrong with your choice, what I meant was don't use Ghost if you can use True Image

Haha yeah, like I said before, of the 3 choices, Ghost is last on my list.

CloneZilla is an open source alternative to Norton Ghost. See the tectonic article for more info.

Your using Seagate Drives - their DiscWizard program is Free and a cutdown version of Acronis True Image
I'm not sure if that will do the OS side of things as your looking to do or not but worth looking into.

I have TWO Seagates in my system.

I'm now downloading Acronis True image on a 4Mb line and it's coming down at a whopping 30kB/s!

This sucks balls..

Yup. Straight from the Acronis site. Would ou mind just downloading the first 5MBs and see if you also get the same speed (if you also have a 4Mb line of course).

DiscWizard downloaded at full speed though.

dont use anything else

It works ok with my Acer but can't boot up except in Safe Mode on
my Panasonic Core2Duo. It took a week for Acronis support to get me
to download a patch which allows me to boot their product from CD/DVD.
