Just though I should post my experiences here / warn other people of Afrihost's sly tactics when their IP Accounting information is bad.

On Friday night at +- 11PM I started a download to use the last bit of free bandwidth I had left and stopped the download at 11:58PM (also shut down the PC) so that I can start the new month with full bandwidth allocated to my sim.

To my surprise on Saturday morning, I suddenly had 300MB less data. I assume my download used more than the available amount I had left for October and due to system errors on their side (slow IP accounting packets), they didnt cap the account. So who's fault is that ? So their solution is to simply deduct the overage from my November allocation.

Why I logged a ticket with the support desk I got a reply saying the IP sessions are correct - clearly this person didnt read the support ticket!

Afrihost advertises no unexpected costs or overage usages, they DO NOT roll over free data at the end of the month but they have the cheek to roll over additional usage (which shouldnt have happened in the first place if their system worked correctly) to my November data.

If Afrihost does that - then I expect them to roll over my unused data to the next month too!

Our system should disconnect all active connections at 00h00 as the new month starts. If there was a system error, we will gladly allocate data to your account to compensate for this. Can you please send me a PM with your account number or username so that I can investigate what occurred for you.
