Beware the fog light cop!!

I got caught a demerit for driving with my fogs on...
R500 and 1 demerit. I had no plates on in front, but he didnt care, coz he only catches drivers for foglights wtf!!??!!

Anyway my judge friend understood that the fine is steep, charged me R100 and removed my demerit.

PS on the fine it explains how demerits work, on your 13th demerit you and the relevant car is banned for 3 months. It also takes 3 months to lose 1 demerit.

Watch out guys...

Why? I'm not a fan of drivers who use fog lights as a fashion item, but this cop ignored a missing number plate in favour of a fog light violation. I consider a guy driving without plates to be a lot more serious than someone driving with their fogs on.

Apologies. Let me rephrase my response: I applaud the copper but he should have included an extra R2500 and -5 points for no plates. :)
 
I drive with my front fog lights if the lighting is poor... which in Pretoria it often is...

Yip and on Friday it was overcast and rainy and the street has the biggest trees ever!

Especially when stopping at traffic lights and the d00s in front of you have his fog lights on and these fry your eyes out at night :(

And more irritating when the weather is clear and there's no rain or fog...
 
I dont see the big deal with front fogs to be honest, rear fogs are harsh on the eyes, but front fogs are way better than xenons right?

makes you see better but blurs the guy in front of you or guy coming on's vision...

And once you put on the front fogs the back ones come on too, go check...

Nope pull out once for front fogs and twice for rear fogs.
 
why did you drive with the foglights on? was it because of thefoggindurban?

Have a read of http://www.fordstownerssa.co.za/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5180&hilit=foglights until understood, it'll give you some understanding about the fog light effect.

It should show you the errors of your ways, and the utter annoyance you cause to other motorists. The good thing about using your fog lights (other than in fog) is that they're a good way to increase your cock-o-meter rating.
 
ya... my alfa has seperate buttons for rear and front fogs... all cars should be seperate.

thing about my fogs, is they are next to my proper lights, not at the bottom (don't ask why, its just how alfa did it :) ) and if i put those on, i can bet all you ppl who think fogs are "cool" will have a fit... they a c#@p load stronger than my brights, and shine right in your eyes :)

but i never use them, because thankfully i was gifted with more than 4 braincells, and caught the hint, that "FOG" lights, just maybe are made only for use in fog.... but oh well.

My foglights are on the same stem as my lights. Half-turn for front, full-turn for front and back. Our Merc is like that as well, except of course that the lights are on the side near the ignition.
