Yeah fnb reversed money from paypal, even know i send it as friends and family. Guy never send the item, so they refunded me.

actually I'm trying to do a chargeback with FNB now and just got wad of forms sent to me to either email back to them or drop off at a branch.You need a new bank - I've only ever had that with ABSA.

Probably true. Interest rates are very low these days anywayI don't think they're holding the money to earn quick interest, I think it's more likely that they simply have a cashflow problem. When they pay money over to the supplier and the supplier fails to honour the order, I don't think retailers are immediately refunded. Suppliers tend to drag their feet.
This is where I think the cashflow problem lies.
Like you said, all refunds are processed eventually. When it's a few hundred rand, that's all fine and well, but when it's thousands, that could lead to some sleepless nights for the customer.

Well look at trends on myBB. You can read some of the Afrihost threads and they are mostly negative, but it does not mean they are all bad.Considering this thread exists, and others like it - and the experience I've had with them - I'm inclined to believe he's not talking crap.

There is no way to "deal" with this problem other than to avoid Raru all together or go in forewarned that if your order can't be fulfilled you will need to wait 4-6 weeks to get your money back.Why should I come crying ? I'm currently also have issues with a very well known respectable company, but I will never call them a scam which is a harsh. Yes there are some fly-by-night operations out here. But Raru founded Take2 from what I recall which now is Takealot.There is no way to "deal" with this problem other than to avoid Raru all together or go in forewarned that if your order can't be fulfilled you will need to wait 4-6 weeks to get your money back.
For someone with a limited budget and in urgent need of something this situation can be a pretty serious predicament to be in.
Say you need a laptop for work or college, Raru takes your money but then there's no stock and they pointblank refuse to refund for 6 weeks, leaving the desperate customer stranded, out of pocket to look elsewhere.
