Beware when ordering from RARU...

Problem is that will also take weeks.
Should be escalated immediately and be followed up in a day or 2. I'm pretty sure the banks wouldn't stand for this bs, the retailer either supplies the goods or does a refund ASAP.
My bank is instant?
What bank and how was that possible without them doing an investigation?

Investec - but - was also instant with FNB.

They then do the investigation - if its found in the vendors favour, you're recharged, and pay a penalty.

I placed my order for the ps5 console on the 16th of last month, full payment of R12000. ETA date was suppose to be between the 16th and 20th of this month. Then on there website they changed the ETA date to late 2020 and early 2021. After multiple emails there response was that they don't have the exact ETA date and have no idea when the consoles will arrive. So on 18th of this month I cancelled my order and requested an immediate refund of my R12000 to be told i have to wait 15 to 20 days FOR MY MONEY. I am gonna raise holy hell tomorrow if they do not pay me my money back.

Should have just kept your order. It'll take them longer to refund you than to fulfill your order at this point.

If they do not pay me my money back tomorrow I am gonna lay a charge of theft against them. They want my money in full, I have the full right to request an immediate refund and who the hell are they to tell any customer they must wait nearly a month for there Money Back. There business ethics are a joke and disgusting and I have reported them to Sony

I doubt if anything you do will help @DeanJustin ... just check this thread.

You have a higher change of your order being delivered, before your refund or either of the delivery/refund coming through before the SAPS have even looked at your theft charge.

Lol, good luck.
It's a civil matter don't bother with the police.

Rather open a case with your bank/cardholder.

But I have a feeling Raru know how to work the system but as yet no one has confirmed opening a fraud case with their bank to get their refund ASAP but that's definitely your best bet/first port of call to expedite the refund.

Had the PS5 in my cart, was checking out, then decided to do a quick review search on mybroadband about raru... Glad to say I didn't place my order after reading soo many negative reviews. I'd rather wait for another supplier to get stock.

I knew nothing of this thread. But I bought a book on Raru a few months ago. No problem.

If it isn't a pricing error, and the stock is still readily available from the supplier the wheels tend to turn smoothly with RARU.

The issue comes in when they have to give you your money back due to lack of stock or pricing mistake. That's when the wheels fall off.

If you're okay with taking store credit if they fail to supply your order, you should be okay. Otherwise be prepared to wait a long time to get your money back, especially if it's a larger amount.

ProTip: If you insist on ordering an expensive item from them, pay using your credit card. That way if they do try to pull any delaying tactics, you can reverse the charge.

Reversing the charge even on a credit card is no small task?
You have to open a dispute with your cardholder?

Friend of mine been waiting over a month for a refund now...

Correct, but it's better than having no recourse at all. Visa/Mastercard offer better protection on Credit as opposed to debit cards.

Actually these days the protection is just about identical on credit and debit cards in terms of online payments/orders.

Has anybody opened a chargeback after Raru pulled the delayed refund bs on them?

Hey guys. I'm a bit pressed for time so I just skimmed through this thread after it came up in a google search. My experience with Raru is that I returned a gaming chair as it just wasn't for me. I was charged a R450 delivery fee and a 10% handling fee. They processed my refund credit 3 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my Raru credit to be reimbursement on my credit card. I'm stuck in "refund queue HELL". Just got word from them today. See below an extract for their email to me.

Your refund request is in the queue on 14 working days from the date received. Kindly note that the amount of days mentioned in the queue is your current position in the refund queue. The refund process can take up to 30 working if not longer unfortunately. We have advised that the process will take longer and that we are trying our best to have all refunds processed as received and at the soonest.

All we ask is that you please bare with us a little while longer.

Up to 30 working days if not longer ... Ridiculous!!!
