Beware when ordering from RARU...

Note that RARU's owners own the SAGamer.co.za forum and website.
I have noticed people complain there, and their complaints being censored.
Its very sad to see how things have deteriorated but, unfortunately the blame can only be with RARU.

Wow I didn't know that, that is definitely unethical.

I posted my own thread not knowing this one existed:

I've actually been trying to order something from Raru tonight. Just to see if their service is as bad as I thin it is.

Only problem - everything I might want to order is 3 days to 15 days away. Which makes Raru a simple courier service that you pay extra money for.

Anyone used RARU lately? Seeing something that's says 6 - 8 Days shipping. But quick search on mybroadband says stay away.

Your issue comes in when they need to issue a refund, due to a supplier stock/price issue. It takes 6 weeks, minimum. All my orders have been honored so far though.

exactly that....even though i had issues with them in the past, i did order from them again, keeping in mind that if there any issues, refund will take 6 weeks....

I've been looking at the hellopeter complaints. They might have a few items in stock, but as far as I can see their business model now, is keeping your money for as long as they can, before you get refunded.

Basically using "clients" money to generate interest. I think that is pathetic.

Neil and Waine are welcome to come here and disagree.

Weird business model that, one that can barely net you R6000 of income if you somehow manage to 'hold onto' R1m. They are actively selling stuff and I am actively getting my orders, and have not had to go through the refund process in quite some time. But then again, I have been avoiding purchasing items that seem to be priced "too low" or items with clear price errors.

Hey? It's about how much you can hang on to for how long. As in a rolling amount. R1m for a year will net you far more than R6000....

It's also about the fact that they want payment upfront, for items that will be delivered in 7-10 (working) days. It's an old tactic - they have your money for a while before they pay for the item that is delivered to you.

Cash management.

I got caught my these vile people.

They could not deliver a product within the time that I required it so I requested a refund.

When I spoke to the call center's supervisor who then told me I must wait 30 working days for a refund which is nonsense. When I asked to speak to senior management she refused, she lied when I asked for the person's name and refused to provide me with their email address. This is when I unfortunately lost my temper and she hung up.
