Beware when ordering from RARU...

I'm getting paranoid now. Even though I use Raru regularly.

I am considering cancelling my order. In the case that a refund is an issue. Who can I contact to light a fire under their asses. Or which consumer protection agency etc, do I contact?
Consumer goods ombudsman probably the best bet? Will see.

amazon shipping is what I was ref to. Their normal not express shipping is around a week or two
Reason I use express with Amazon is because I usually have my order within a few days and customs is never an issue because DHL handles all of it. Normal shipping I've never tried. Is customs and issue with things getting stuck there etc?

I have ordered the "normal" route always and its always via aramex might have changed though but never had any issues.

If that happens, PLEASE escalate it to Amazon.
Aramex has NO right to ask you for additional fees, Amazon has prepaid all fees.
Also If Aramex insists because "the paperwork is wrong", again escalate to Amazon, they will reimburse you and take it up with Aramex.
That isn't your battle to fight.

Sometimes Aramex has issues collecting people's IDs and they sent me a message the other day asking me to send them a bunch of things
I asked them for details so I could send it to Amazon, then suddenly my shipment moved ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They have a huge contract with Amazon so there shouldn't be a bunch of extra process there.

EDIT: I remember now, they asked me for 3 months unredacted bank statement and I refused. I only gave them the part for the Amazon transaction. I said I'd like to take it up with Amazon and please link me to the legislation requiring the collection of that level of information. They never responded and just sent my stuff along.

^^ is true for all orders "shipped by Amazon"/"fulfilled by Amazon". The only time you are on your own are the super, super rare sellers that are "Shipped by <bla bla>" where bla bla is the seller's name. But it is pretty rare to find those these days.

This is true, Amazon in my experience doesn’t fk around, things happen when the shipper starts dropping the ball but you have to let them know that is the case.

What business is it of Aramex in anyway. You ordered, paid and it's up to them to make sure you get it. Glad you posted this. Going to place an order on Amazon tomorrow or Thursday and let you know how it went with shipping.

Thank you again for the info because it will help a lot.

In my experience even then Amazon will step in if you tried to sort it out with the seller to no avail.

Honestly, shipped by seller is so rare that I haven't really had the "opportunity" to have something that has been shipped by them.
I did buy some tea from the UK and they just straight up refunded me because I never got the parcel.
So never needed to escalate it.

Normal shipping is the same with regards to clearing customs, you just wait about a week longer for it to arrive, but ZERO hassles, same as with Express

I have also had customs refunds in the past, where I was overcharged ... automatically refunded the difference to me

Seems like they scammed someone else also. I happened to hear a co-worker talking about them. Apparently he's been waiting 2 months now for his refund. They tell him that he is in the "refund queue". In a queue for 2 months not. I told him his best option is to have his bank reverse the money he paid for his order.

They seems like total scum

Still waiting for mine and I went through the Consumer Goods board, apparently it's a 30 day refund policy.

Please elaborate. Will the consumer goods board only assist after 30 days?
