Big ADSL plans in 2009

If had 1GB of free bandwidth for every "Big ADSL plans for Mzanzi..." article out there, I'd have free internet access for the rest of my life!

Sure, it will probably happen some day.... I'll just wait and see (and maybe learn to do more things off-line in the meantime.)

Almost five hundred words in that article, but it fails to say anything whatsoever.

MWEB CEO Jansen said that the company had some exciting new products in the pipeline...
I'm sure that every product that they have [-]up their[/-] in the pipeline is exciting to them. :D

Telkom was more reserved, simply saying that disclosure of potential new offerings "would be commercially sensitive".
Ja wohl!

The most exciting thing about these articles is the justified negativity it attracts from forumites!

I find it interesting that Telkom will make a statement around their offerings as being commercially sensitive...could be interesting.

So the summary is that exciting things will happen. We don't know what and nobody is promising anything. And nobody knows how long the "lag" will be between SEACOM landing and cost savings being passed to me. Gee. I feel so enlightened after reading the article...

i don't want sound negative but i doubt anything exciting will happen anytime "soon"

Ok, Cheaper ADSL... but errr... Telkom is no longer replacing stolen cables (well, thats what they told me anyway, they actually came and gave me a wireless WCDMA phone). So errr, YEAH!

In fact, now that I think of it, When they say cheaper ADSL, they mean you not paying for it at all, because ITS NON EXISTANT! Now thats value for money!

Way to go telskum!

So the summary is that exciting things will happen.
The circus is coming to town. That's exciting, isn't it? And a whole lot more likely than 10% international bandwidth prices and other stuff people are hoping for...

I remember an article where the SEACOM peeps said, if I remember correctly, 10 times cheaper international bandwidth.

Let's hope that happens, then again I hoped before it would snow In Cape Town, but I'm still waiting.
