Big changes to free version of Evernote

I love Evernote and it's one of my most used applications on desktop and mobile, but this company really doesn't understand how to make money. There are loads of free alternatives to Evernote as far as note taking goes, so if they want people to upgrade to a paid account it needs to be cheap and an impulse purchase. The cost of their Premium account is bonkers - almost as much as Netflix. If they only had one Premium option and it was $9.99 a year then I would hazard a guess that a staggering number of people would take them up on that.

They're so obsessed with the advanced features that Evernote has (that very few people actually use) that they've massively inflated their idea of what the service is worth to most people. $34.99 a year for Plus and $69.99 a year for Premium makes no sense.

what are good free evernote alternatives with syncing?

Just switched (back to) Onenote.

- It's free
- Has a migration tool from Evernote (just remember it does not open your migrated Notebooks automatically, you must do so from your OneDrive)
- Works on Windows, Android, IOS and OSX (not sure about Linux)

By bye Evernote

Been using Evernote since forever. Tried to switch over to OneNote it didn't work out very well.
I once delete some important information inside a note and had to upgrade my sub to get the historical data.

Will do the switch away from Evernote to something different...

Which one Keep/OneNote is the best with storage space?

OneNote uses your Microsoft OneDrive for storage - not sure how big that is though

Edit: I see that I have 15 Gig (free) - you can pay to upgrade to more.

Edit2: Hmm, apparently that 15 will reduce to 5 (free) - anyway, that's more than I need for this purpose.

Here is the low down: https://support.office.com/en-us/ar...2ac-af54-fefa22ce5324?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

If you're an Office 365 user you get 1TB

Annoyed, but ultimately not a great deal of money.

Will probably upgrade. Where is the link to the 50% off?

hmm...will need to give this a think. Definitely need some kind of tool like this

I have used so many different note taking apps since migrating to Android from BB, and settled on this one. Unfortunately I will not upgrade. What I do on Evernote has no monetary value to me. I'd donate/pay for LibreOffice or other tools that benefit me, not this.
Goodbye and time to try something else (OneNote).

Bye bye Evernote.. This was a dumb change.

Will be moving to IOS notes (Mac ecosphere so why not?) or Google Keep (yucky limited formatting etc but sharing makes it awesome)

This is exactly what I've been thinking.. I'm a light Evernote user so the premium option was never worth it especially at Rand/dollar rate but comparing as you have to dollar value products is sickly priced.

No thanks.. 2 device limit means I'm uninstalling

Switched to Google Keep quite a while ago. Does everything I need. Evermore just always felt too "heavy" with features I never use.
