Biggest property website battle

All I know is I've never even heard of property genie and property24 turns up first on google search for property in South Africa.
 
property24 is the best known because of their big ad budget and cross advertising from the other 24 sites. However, if you're looking for a home on the net, there's no better site than PropertyGenie.co.za
 
Maybe you've only "heard" of property24 because its part of the media24 brand, anything with "24" in it will look familiar. :D
 
property24, owned my media24, a company known to have no scruples in suing people and companies into submission.
 
If I search for "property south africa" on google PropertyGenie pops up right at the top - as a sponsored link......
 
If I'm looking for a home, I probably wouldn't use 'property south africa', I'd use something like 'homes for sale', 'houses for sale cape town', 'homes to let cape town'. The 24.com sites have a big advantage as far as traffic is concerned, they don't have to rely on search engines as much as their competitors. A lot of their traffic will come directly from their portal sites, like News24.
 
well, I did a quick test and propertygenie definitely has more listings of better quality than property24...
 
Folks no discussion about top SA property websites can be made without including www.privateproperty.co.za. Do an Alexa comparison of the 3 of them. Best quality property info on the SA web, and the busiest property website.
 
The biggest gainer in the past year must go to www.myroof.co.za - makes sense, they're the only property website to offer floor plans of every property listed!
