Okay, this morning I get my first statements via e-mail;

Now, I was under the impression that my bill (if I don't use the phone to make calls) should not be more than R999 a month.

My bill is R 1,393.49.

Now, I check the bill and see the following;

NeoConnect Prime - Device Charge which is R70.17
NeoConnect Prime Unlimited - Service Fee which is R806.14
NeoConnect Prime Unlimited - Service Fee which is R806.14 but R345.49 (next to it)

Can Neotel explain this too me?

Now, why am I being charged for the device for one when clearly on the pamphlet that I have it says "Device charge" which is included in the R999 package.

Why is NeoConnect Prime Unlimited - Service Fee appearing twice, first entry for R806.14 and then second entry says R345.49

WHY THE FSCK IS MY BILL R1393!!!

The VAT I can accept, but the rest... NEE MAN!

That's R400 more than agreed amount (and I have used my phone but according to those charges its only R1!!!)

Neotel Rep... sort his out please! :mad:

You got charged a percentage for the 1st month that you were on, and you got charged in advance for the current month.

So if you were started on 15 of the month, you would have a 50% fee for that month.

Add the device, and service fee including vat = R999.00

ARG!!!!!!! :mad:

I don't remember anything about a pro-rata charge coming into play... the only thing I was told was the damn HUGE deposit.

*sigh* I should know better!

Neotel Rep... nevermind :mad:

Look for a pro rated amount or something had the same thing.

Well a Pro-Rata charge is actually good, because otherwise you would have paid R999 for the 1st month, and R999 for the second, when you only had the device for under a month in the 1st month.

What is better is only paying the pro-rata charge... nothing else (for the 1st month)

But that's not how they think is it now.

well you only pay end of March so you must have had the device in Febuary?

Every ISP I've ever had debit orders with works exactly the same way. It's standard practice. You should've seen my first ever ADSL bill. Now THAT was a shocker.

My first ADSL bill (with Telkom) was also a shocker, that's why I said in my previous posts (with regards to the Prorata charge) that I should've expected it, but I also was not TOLD about it.

Standard practise is also to INFORM the customer... when I was signing up with Neotel, the lady and I discussed multiple times the costs involved, the thing she lady mentioned over and over and over was THE DEPOSIT.

Fair enough, it would be nice to be told these things before the heart attack inducing bill arrives.

gdiza,

I verified your bill and it is correct including a R0,56 charge for a National call(s).

Your comments regarding being informed during the sales process has been conveyed to the relevant persons.

Yep, I also received my bill. Well I received my device on the 05/02/09 and I wasn't billed @ the end of Feb. So I accept the pro-rata, which is fair. I did confirm that no debit was going to go through for Feb., yes I queried this in advance.

My only query, although their call centre is adamant that all payments are through debit order, can I pay via eft instead? Their invoice clearly states that this can be done.

On the overall I'm happy to pay, I'm happy with their service :D

(Hope this doesn't bite me one of these days) http://www.speedtest.net/result/428951460.png

EFT is also an option, but debit order is preferred ;)
