Billion 7300M

I'm interested too

I'm interested too, pm me also pls

I have had no bad report backs from people I have sold this router to.

I have to say it really looks like a great router!

Firmware for Billion 7300

I see that new firmware (17/11/2006) is available for the Billion 7300. Is it worth "installing" it, and why? If you want to "install" it, how do you go about to do it?

Hi

Does there seem to be a problem with the router?
Cause we normally advise that if ithere is no problem with your router then new F/W is not needed.

F/W version 1.32 was for an IP IPHONE bug. When connecting an IP PHONE between the router and a PC the IP phone did not want to register with the SIP Server. This was only for a specific IP Phone and will not have any influence on other VOiP products.

Does anyone know if this modem can do bridged and routing mode simultaneously?

There is quite a difference on the wireless side.

I currently have a Gigabyte B49G which gives me great coverage downstairs, but the signal strength is drastically lower upstairs. Would this router have a significant difference and will it be compatible with future 802.11n gear?

Multiple DSL Connection Configuration

Brilliant router by the way (using vanilla 7300). I have a couple of questions though:

1. Can it be configured to open multiple PPPOE connections each with its own authentication options? If so, how? I'm staring at the WAN Bridge Connection Creation page but don't find a space for credentials.

2. I'm trying to route international traffic to one PPPOE connection and ZA traffic to another. I need to add about 600 static routes (wonderful IPV4!). Will the router be "happy" with this and is there a quick way to add them e.g. through telnet?

3. Where can one view usage stats (if a page exists)?

4. Is there an anonymously-accessible status page where I can read the primary connection's assigned IP address from? (for use by DDClient)

5. Assuming we'll see IPV6 implemented at ISP's in our lifetime, do Billion routers implement it?

Thanks!

Help!!!

Just got that modem 2day... BiPAC 7300M...
Works like a bomb on the wireless side...

Just have one problem, tried to set it to bridged mode (1483_Bridged_mode), for Route Sentry, works connecting to the internet, but my wireless lan connection says Limited or no connectivity...

What am I doing wrong? Is it on the right mode... need it to be on either bridged or modem mode to use RASPPPOE 4 Route Sentry...

Any one know how to sort out that problem? Need to connect my laptop to create a VLan.

Plz any1... I urgently need help.

Unless I'm mistaken, WIndows gives the above message when your connection hasn't been assigned an IP address which means that either the router's DHCP is disabled or you've entered the wrong wireless key or your mac address is blocked (if mac filtering is enabled on the router). Try configuring the IP address manually to test communication between your laptop and the router.

Something else to think about is actually gaining Internet access from the laptop, as I assume you're creating the PPPoE connections from another machine.. Even if your router assigns it an IP address and gateway through DHCP, you won't gain Internet access; you will have to share the connections from the machine that establishes them and make it the gateway.

I read somewhere that if u put ur modem in Bridged mode you lose all your router capabilities... That means that I won't be able to connect wirelessly.:(

Read this... http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=66865

i got my router (netgear) in bridged mode i can connect wirelessly, just need to manually assign the IP for my wireless card........then it connects fine.....:)

but momo you got a billion router you should be able to have the router in bridged + normal mode, eg you can use routesentry on your computer , while still letting all other computers connect to internet normally with the router doing the connecting.............................i wish i bought a billion router :(

Yes all the Billion routers can do bridge and routing simutaneously.

anyways for a temp solution since you so desperate :p......this workd for me should work for you

wit router in normal mode, connect the computer to it. see what IP address you get by opening wirless netowrk status and pressing details. write down those numbers.

then right click the wireless, press properties, in a box you will see a whole list of items, scroll down, press Internet protocol v4, properties, press use the following IP address, and enter the IP address you took down. under use the following gateway type the address you type to get to the router page.

then put router in bridged mode and try connecting :)

btw: im in vista atm so my instructions may not be perfect
