Hi, I'm having some difficulty setting up my Billion 800VGT router in Windows 7. The ADSL line is not installed yet but I have the router now so I figured I could get it set up so long. My problem is i cant connect to it in any way. I set my network to obtain an IP automatically through DHCP. which it does successfully, the router and PC are connected and communicating. The default ip is supposed to be 10.0.0.2 but I cant connect to the web interface with either chrome, firefox or ie8. I tried pinging the ip and get ''destination net unreachable''. I've tried disabling the windows firewall, my antivirus, on luck. Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry if this is stupid, but are you SURE that's the default IP? Looks weird to me. :?

Are you connecting via wireless or wired?

run ipconfig /all from a cmd line and post the results here

You need to run the config through a wire, this is for security reasons.

The default IP for config on a Billion router/modem is usually 192.168.1.254

Problem solved, this is not a new router, was my Dads. The default ip according to the manual is 10.0.0.2 but I just did the ipconfig /all and noticed the DHCP server ip was not 10.0.0.2. I tried resetting it to factory settings but that clearly didn't work. Need to try it again since the passwords were changed too and I don't have them. :/ thanks guys

AFAIK the 800VGT version is made for Telkom and the default IP is 10.0.0.2

Hi please reset your router for 8 seconds and after that switch it OFF and ON.Make sure your computer is using a DHCP and then you can login to the router and set it up.The default IP address is 10.0.0.2.The username and password is admin.
